True but he can't just sit back and wait for the ball. He needs to move across the front line, I think he has been given a free role but has decided to play it safe today. He should be a nuisance out there.

He actually does need to wait for the ball, to a degree. He needs to maintain width. The responsibility is on those in the build up to advance the ball up the pitch and give it to them, in the right rhythm/tempo. But they are incapable.
