Exactly. I still remember the 1-1 with USA and 0-0 with Algeria in 2010, the dark days of finishing bottom of the group in 2014, the 1-1 with Russia in 2016. Not to mention the wally with the brolly in 2012. I'll take a 6-2 in the opening game, thanks.I thought we were brilliant. We won the game comfortably without getting out of second gear.

Bellingham cements his place in the side so there’s proper midfield balance. Saka and Rashford get some redemption for Euro 2020. Shaw, Maguire, Sterling all looking good and proving that Southgate knows a bit more about team selections than the fans.
Kane playing his usual deep position but good running off him from the wingers made it work. Subs looked sharp.
The only worry is if Maguire has a concussion he’s out for 3 weeks? He was very good at set pieces and in the build up but obviously needs game time.
Walker back in on Friday. Phillips could come off the bench?
A good Wales result today would let England qualify with a win vs the US?

Unfortunately never has his arms down…….always holding…..Maguire was pulling in return. If he had kept his arms down he would have got the pen.
I’d be gobsmacked if he didn’t revert to type. I just don’t see him pressing high against better sides who’ll just play round usJust hope he keeps the positive approach and doesnt revert to 2 holding mids and defending the edge of the area
