Obviously nobody wants to concede goals, but we saw in our 6-3 win against United this season that when you’re too comfortable, you might get a bit complacent.

Besides, one of the goals came from a soft penalty in the last minute. Maybe it’s not a bad thing. Maybe it’s a warning to our players to just not grab any part of a shirt in the box because it can be picked up on in a game where you might not have such a lead. Better to do in this game and learn the lesson.

The goal from open play was a bit disappointing, but obviously one of our defenders at that point was having problems, although you could argue he’s been having double vision for about two years.

I wouldn’t read too much into it, just a bit of complacency and a soft decision in a game we were more than comfortable in.

He has had a very clear strategy for years now. 433 in games where England expect to dominate possession. 343/352 in games where England expect to have less possession.

The interesting thing for me is that should mean 433 for Iran, USA and Wales…and Senegal.

So will he still change it in a potential quarter final, sticking to his 4 year old plan of picking the formation based on opposition.

Or will he be convinced by the success of the 433 into keeping it in every game?

One goal was a bullshit penalty and one was when a concussed player missed a forward’s run.

I don’t think they will worry too much about it.

Agree, is Kane and rice the only players not playing 433 at club level. Players based on today obviously comfortable with it
 
had to miss most of the game but just watched the highlights and pretty good but for their 2 goals,
how VAR gives them a pen for a little pull of the shirt, but don't give England one for holding and pulling down slab head,

please take note, when the big and better teams facing England we will get nothing,
