Ireland probably shouldn't have gone home after the red card.

No doubt that it was a penalty but the yellow was a bit harsh.
If that was anywhere else on the pitch I doubt it would be a yellow card.
Has spoilt the game, as bad as it was.

The ref has been poor. Ireland could (should?) have had a penalty in the first half. And Scales can feel hard done by. Yes, the ref applied the law of the game. But a bit of common sense wouldn't have gone amiss. The first booking he got was very soft.
