As an Englishmen I ofcourse want us to do well and I don't give a fuck what team the England players play for.

We have shown we are hypocrites anyway by welcoming Cole, Schmeichel and Tevez when they came and played for our club. The same would happen if we signed any of the players some BM-er's currently froth at so I don't see the problem with supporting England with them playing anyway. I'm quite happy to put club differences aside when the clubs are not involves, as do City's England players.

Not really, I've always thought Tevez is a **** even when he's in blue. Cole was never welcomed. Schmeichel was always a **** too.

Yes really. City fans didn't not wish for City to do well or had pangs of doubt about supporting us when they played. Each one was welcomed after they started playing and pulled on the City top. I never heard and calls of derision at games towards them after they signed (and I wouldn't have expected to unless I was sat next to a **** either) and we certainly cheered every Cole and Tevez goal and cheered every Schmeichel save.

You understand my point but have simply tried to water it down.

Spot on Sweep. I could never bring myself to sing for Schmeichel or Cole but I was impressed with them while they playe for City and certainly would never have given them grief. I've been sat watching England slagging off the players I don't like but ultimately wanting England to win. People take themselves far too seriously. Allowing Rooney and Terry to influence your support of the national team is a bit sad really. People can say that no-one in the Italian team annoys them but we don't see those players week in week out against City. I'm certain there will be no Lazio ultras cheering for England tonight because they don't like De Rossi.
We used to slag rags off after 1998 when they sang their silly Argentina songs.

I will watch England because i'm English however I haven't and more than likely never will 'support' them like I do City. I have never bought an England shirt, or had an England flag hanging out of my car window, just not me. I don't feel particularly upset/gutted if England don't win, but I will watch tonight and hope we do win if just to piss the likes of Platini and Blatter off

and that's fair enough. i'd rather city win the league cup next season than england win the euros but i still want england to win. to a lesser degree, i hope salford win the super league but it won't make me sad if they don't.

We cheered their achievements to the team, we didn't cheer them as people like we did for Aguero, Dzeko, Goater, etc.

Maybe you have a point with Tevez early on, certainly not with Cole and Schmeichel

If England win tonight then I will feel confident we can go all the way, plus the semi finals are set up nicely for 2 derbys - Portugal v Spain and Germany v England.

For me Spain are nowhere near as good as they were a few years ago and on our day we can do a Chelsea on them and nick it!

Germany were hyped up like Gods after beating what was for me the worst team in the competition in Greece, they like Spain can be defeated if played with the right tactics.

Portugal without Ronaldo is just an average international side in my opinion.

Really looking forward to the match. Surprised at the number of people who would rather cheer on an Italian national team than the England one. I hope we slap them and send them home.
