Really looking forward to the match. Surprised at the number of people who would rather cheer on an Italian national team than the England one. I hope we slap them and send them home.
quite agree with that sentiment!

I have tried to support England again but have found it impossible.I couldnt support anyone with that areshole Rooney in the team, horrible man.

In 86 I was devastated when Maradona dumped us out but during the 90s the team was so Rag Laden that I lost interest.

That said with the Blues in the team I wish them well, and Balo.

As an Englishmen I ofcourse want us to do well and I don't give a fuck what team the England players play for.

We have shown we are hypocrites anyway by welcoming Cole, Schmeichel and Tevez when they came and played for our club. The same would happen if we signed any of the players some BM-er's currently froth at so I don't see the problem with supporting England with them playing anyway. I'm quite happy to put club differences aside when the clubs are not involves, as do City's England players.

Exactly, i hate spurs more than anyone - if Defoe came of the bench and scored the winner i wouldnt give a flying fuck, really excited for tonights game - weve done fantastic to get here, to beat Italy would be even better. Good luck lads
Fantastic to get to the quarter-finals? We drew against France who could have easily beaten us had they taken a chance more or two, nearly lost it to Sweden and beat Ukraine 1-0 and they looked better than us for long parts of the game, it was hardly convincing. It just seems that as the first round knock out is called the quarter-final we've done well get there, we should have beaten two of those teams given rankings etc and we did, just.

Still however I am looking forward to the match, there are City players involved and I've had a great time watching the last few games with my mates, so bring on tonight!

You can bang on all you want about how we could have lost against France, Sweden and Ukraine but as a City fan you need to recognise that we almost fucked it against QPR but got there in the end.

Backing teams against England seems to be the new slagging Oasis. People hear their mates do it and believe it sounds cool so go along with it. Why the fuck would anyone cheer a team from thousands of miles away rather than their own country of birth?

I was making a point about how we have not really done fantastically, probably more so in my opinion, but as I stated before I'm looking forward to the game and I haven't said I'll be backing Italy, which I wont be.

If Balo isn't firing tonight, it will be extra time and penalties. Italy will need him big style to win it in regulation time.

Not really, I've always thought Tevez is a **** even when he's in blue. Cole was never welcomed. Schmeichel was always a **** too.

Yes really. City fans didn't not wish for City to do well or had pangs of doubt about supporting us when they played. Each one was welcomed after they started playing and pulled on the City top. I never heard and calls of derision at games towards them after they signed (and I wouldn't have expected to unless I was sat next to a **** either) and we certainly cheered every Cole and Tevez goal and cheered every Schmeichel save.

You understand my point but have simply tried to water it down.

We cheered their achievements to the team, we didn't cheer them as people like we did for Aguero, Dzeko, Goater, etc.

Maybe you have a point with Tevez early on, certainly not with Cole and Schmeichel
And that's the way I feel about England, you are agreeing with me. I don't like some of them as people and won't be cheering for them as individuals but as England players.

I can understand your indifference to the result but I can't understand how any English person could want Italy to win. That's just shit.

England and Italy - quick straw poll.

Do you want Engerland to lose tonight. Just "yes" or "no"... and don't send this to the match forum. It will get lost in there the minute someone starts Wooney bashing... and I am interested in the ratio.
