I can understand your indifference to the result but I can't understand how any English person could want Italy to win. That's just shit.

Here's why. God Save the Queen; Wooney and John Terry; people saying Engerland; people who support Crewe Alexander slagging off all our players; Also, Bobby Manc, the rag slayer, and his nationality,

ITALIA
As I said, shit.

No; think they might though. Difficult game to call, actually. Italy aren't THAT great, and didn't look impressive against a piss poor Irish side. But have England over-achieved so far? Posssibly, given that that squad is not packed with world class players.

I cringe at the very idea of the commentator going...

"ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONEY!!!!!!!"

.... and the very idea of seeing John Terry happy would ruin my evening. FCUM. it is a lot to ask. I try but I can't support England.

Re: England and Italy - quick straw poll.

It ruin ruin your evening to think of someone you will never meet being happy that our country has progressed? You are very odd.

Yes really. City fans didn't not wish for City to do well or had pangs of doubt about supporting us when they played. Each one was welcomed after they started playing and pulled on the City top. I never heard and calls of derision at games towards them after they signed (and I wouldn't have expected to unless I was sat next to a **** either) and we certainly cheered every Cole and Tevez goal and cheered every Schmeichel save.

You understand my point but have simply tried to water it down.

We cheered their achievements to the team, we didn't cheer them as people like we did for Aguero, Dzeko, Goater, etc.

Maybe you have a point with Tevez early on, certainly not with Cole and Schmeichel
And that's the way I feel about England, you are agreeing with me. I don't like some of them as people and won't be cheering for them as individuals but as England players.

I can understand your indifference to the result but I can't understand how any English person could want Italy to win. That's just shit.

Because I love City much more than the England national team, so what apples for the club (the ability to overlook the personalities of some players) does not apply to the national team.

As you say, it's a numbers game. England team are full of cunts and a 3 City players. Italy is full of alright guys and 1 City player.

If Italy win, we get two exceptionally important City players who don't need big performances now, back into the squad uninjured (and Milner too!). We also have a pack of cunts going home empty handed after winning nothing all year.
If England win, we get Balo criticised all over again which will dent his confidence, we keep Lescott and Hart out of their rest time for another week and have to put up with "Richard the Lionheart" bullshit for another week.

As a neutral but somebody who dislikes many of the personalities in the England team, this is sort of how I square it in my head. Italy winning produces the most plus points from a City point of view. Just because we aren't playing doesn't mean that I've forgotten them.

So when you see the enemy celebrating, you like it because you don't know the player personal?! This is a bizarre remark, swp. Get Scotty to beam you up,ffs.

How is it bizarre? you just stated that would happen.

Re: England and Italy - quick straw poll.

No, and I want Balotelli to have a 'mare.
I don't get those wanting him to play well, it's like as if they want the world to see him do well so that they can convince themselves he's a bit good. He's a good player, and he plays his club football for us. Tonight though he plays for Italy and if he's as good as he and many others think he is, he will hopefully get sent off after Lescott has wound him up too much and we will go on and win.
