And yes... it's fucking awful, but I really don't see any alternative.

In an ideal world, if we put all the gimmicks and bullshit aside.

-----------------Hart----------------------

Coleman--Terry--Cahill--Cole/Baines

---Milner--Gerrard---Sterling---

--------Barkley/Rooney------Sturridge--
---------------Lambert--------------

Quarter finals at least that.

One of those gimmicks being that Coleman is Irish

If only England done what Jack Charlton did for Ireland and poach players from another country. Shame we couldn't poach Bale, Ramsey, Coleman etc!

Thought we were the better team...

... Having said that, it was encouraging. Great peformance...

...Henderson looked very comfortable in the middle and is growing as an International footballer...

I'm definitely living in a parallel universe :-)

You're not alone mate :-).

The XI against Uruguay should be:

Hart
Johnson Cahill Jagielka Baines
Gerrard Milner
Sterling Lallana
Rooney
Sturridge

I dont wanna sound biased but Wilshere is very very over rated and Henderson isnt really that good. Could see a Gerrard/Milner partnership working.

The most frightening thing about that line-up (apart from Rooney) is realising that that probably is the best back four from the current squad - and then going away and watching the chaos that occurs for Mario's goal, a straightforward cross to the back post and a free header while Cahill, Johnson and Jagielka try switching positions at the last minute.

It's actually quite laughable when you think about it, we have got three players in our back four that haven't played champions league football, perhaps Johnson has played a few times at Chelsea and Liverpool

People think we played better because we were attacking non stop for the last 25 mins whilst Italy defended. In truth the Italians could have scored one or two more if they went for it but at 2-1 they had decided to defend and see the game out, that's why we started to look good in some people's eyes. We just don't have the midfield good enough to compete at the top, Stevie starfish is nowhere near the level or Pirlo or even De Rossi.

Other than Luke Shaw, there's no one outstanding coming through. Jones may improve but we've fallen from the likes of Terry, Ferdinand, Campbell, Carragher.

Flanagan/Clyne/Jenkinson/Chambers
Smalling/Caulker
Jones
Shaw

Messi and co will be pissing themselves.

I don't think Messi and Argentina are in a position to point and laugh at anyone.... everyone else on the other hand.
