If he has to play Rooney then it's up top in his best position. No fucking Wellbeck and we should do enough
to win this. If he wants protection for Baines then he should use Milner on the left.

Big +1. What is Woys trepidation with this obvious move? That is would be deemed unfashionable? Jimmy would do a far better job than either Rooney or Wellbeck ffs.

TBF Welbeck wasn't that bad the other day. By no means the worst player on the pitch. I was annoyed he started, and there are better players, but he wasn't that bad.

Apart from strolling around and not defending/helping Baines for the 2nd goal. Which I why I thought he kept getting in the team.

Right back - Pereira - ageing slow right back for benfica that just got tormented by Costa Rica, sent off so wont even be playing against us unfortunately

Center back - Godin - athletico madrid, decent defender

Center back - Lugano - 33 year old that couldnt get in the PSG side and got sold to West Brom and they have released him, he is terrible.

Left back - Caceres .. Juventus, decent.


we have nothing to fear here.

they will not handle the pace of Sterling, Ox or Sturridge.

I think Uruguay have been over hyped but then so have England. Two bang average sides but they (Uruguay) are probably slightly better going forward than we are - Cavani and Suarez are better than anything we've got. It will be close - probably a single goal in it either way. The nonsense surrounding Rooney is incredible. Sturidge played upfront the other night and did well, Sterling played behind him and again did well. Rooney continued his poor form but now there a media campaign ( led by the numbskull Wio) to put Rooney in ahead of Sturridge or Sterling - how does that work. This is a big test for Woy - if he doesn't have the guts to drop Rooney it could cost him his job. A bit like in 1990 - it will take a players revolt to get our best side out on the pitch. We need the Ox and Barkley out there if not from the start certainly after an hour.
