Carrick for Lampard.
Really?
Really?
We played really well first half, but with poor final cross or finishing. A bit off this half (need a second).MeatnSpudsMCFC said:England so awful it's tragic. After the Euros 2012 I thought there's no way England could look any worse.
Defensively they look weak, apart from Baines. Midfield continues to rely heavily upon an ageing errard and Rooney still gets a spot by default. I'll get panned because he scored, but his goal scoring ratio is mediocre in reality. Despite the system evolved around him, he still fails to turn up when it matters. And the current system is borderline Stoke stuff. Hopelessly hoofed into the box in hope that someone gets on the end of it, all sounds very familiar.
And the roots are what I point the finger at, youth football. Even now i've seen the youth academys play. Their heroes are the likes of Gerrard, Rooney, Gascoigne etc.
Aggressively minded players. I watched Blackpool academy recently, just like every other academy. The kids couldn't pass for sh*t and they just swore at each other all game. English football failed to evolve and move forward, it's just like english football in the CL. Play 4-4-2 and you'll get bummed off the park. Our traditions have gone out of date, it happens to every country. Italy is another that's on it's last legs, yet they're not so stubborn to change.
So many problems and what goes on the field is just a taste of what goes on in all English football. Now it's come to this, celebrating draws against Ukraine and grinding out a win against Poland.
And if you don't like my opinion, arsed.
