English Histree

I grew up on the Council end of a Wythenshawe road where the posh kids who included Michael Wood TV historian lived. We played football on the fields together and I still get a kick !!%£ out of watching his fascinating programmes about Saxon and Norman England . Peter Dobing also lived on the posh part and Big Mal lived just off it.

Worth a look and thank you. Wikipedia has an excellent timeline were you can click on the links and wander off for some in depth reading. I had no idea that back in 1016 we had a cnunt for a King!

I had an Ancestry DNA test done a few years back. Confirmed a few things I expected (predominantly English and Irish) but also threw up swedish, norwegian and also Iberian Peninsula. The biggest shock though was the Caucasus region.
As I said earlier, fascinating stuff to see and read the "travels" of our ancestors. Whether it be literally or by how events impacted on them.
