Enough is enough

You read this site enough (and let's not kid ourselves, journalists will be reading this as well) and you'll pick up that there are quite a few City fans who think:

1. Atmosphere at home games is shite.
2. Empty seats all over the place.
3. Bravo is a joke.
4. Aguero isn't performing.
5. Tactics are all over the place.
6. Stones isn't good enough.
7. Youth isn't given a chance.
8. We've Spunked money on shite players.

......and lots more.

So, why wouldn't journalists pick up on this as well. They're getting their info from the fans own thoughts and from people who attend games - and the wankers obviously want to concentrate on the negatives, but this place is full of negativity right now. Now, I don't go on other clubs fan forums, but I've seen people on here complaining about how the mods police them, and that certain criticism isn't tolerated - maybe there's a reason..?

Anyway, if we don't win today it will only get worse, especially if those fuckers beat Stoke.

Well the club has tried the nicey nice touchy feely approach and let the media , UEFA ,the FA shit all over us for years ,and this season it has peaked into an all out hate campaign , so what have we got to lose ? The club should ban the media , the after match interviews and a total news blackout on our club , we have the money to pay the fines that we will be given for the indiscretions , and if the media do attack our club get the bastards in court . Not sure why the club put up with the current situation , they want global growth so how does the media screwing our club at every opportunity help our image , the PR dept needs a total overhaul and employ individuals who will defend our reputation to the hilt , Harold Shipman got a better press than us.

Completely agree. I fucking hate seeing our club belittled and ridiculed by ignorant and classless hacks. Not one journalist has any morals whatsoever, it's the nature of their job. Write shit = more clicks/more papers.

They've targeted us deliberately as the newest team to break their cartel of media darlings, and when we lose form or meekly allow some sozzled cockney hack to put their jealous bile into words, the media knives get sharper.

We need to fight fire with fire and employ some absolute bastards of lawyers and bullshitting PR snakes of our own to over hype and big up how fucking amazing we are and dig dirt and make up shit about our main rivals, particularly before they have a big game, and also to threaten the media wankers who dare to portray us in a negative way. Challenge every ****, on and off the pitch. Nice guys don't win in football because its awash with corrupt, greedy, liars who will back stab anyone to give their team an advantage.

This is why we (City) should be going for these tossers.

It's been the same since 2008 and shows no sign of changing.

Gullible fathers who have kids that want to get into football will be pushing them to lovely clubs like the dippers, rags etc as all they'll see is the media bullshit.

then we have the fuckers who say ignore it it doesnt matter. THIS IS EXACTLY WHY IT DOES MATTEER

Great post OP. Particularly this:
We had the opportunity to create a narrative with the press of being the jack the lad club that done good. The lovable losers who ended up winning. The underdog who took on the big boys and won. The Trotters Independent Trailblazers. We could have been the example to every club that no matter how bad it gets, there's always hope. There's always the chance of a miracle. We could still have been everyone's second team. The friendly, self-depricating, family club.

So what would you prefer an echo chamber full of City "Superfans", who never make any criticism and only ever say positive things no matter the circumstances?
This forum would lose it's viewers and contributors very quickly if that were the case.

Hundred percent agree with the OP (first time for everything as they say).

People say ignore it, but when it's pushed into your face day in day out, it becomes almost impossible to. For example, the piss take of a feature last night on BBC local news about Pep going to see Lala Land, was simply beyond belief. Even the Mrs (a red dipper) had to acknowledge that perhaps it was slightly disrespectful towards Pep.

And when you get twats like Jackson, Custis, Ashton, Savage, Owen, McManaman, et al, setting the agenda, we haven't got a hope in hell. I mean when you get a mongrel like Savage, whose only claim to fame appears to have been earning a load of money whilst being shit in his profession, taking the piss and disrespecting a man who should be lauded as one the icons of the game, then where else is there to go from there?

As a previous poster said, grow some balls City. We need to be more Rottweiler than poodle.
The BBC stuff last night was disgraceful, oh how they laughed in the studio even that owl in a jar faced woman, you'd think she'd have more to concern herself about looking like that than sniggering at city.

I agree, but the onus is on the club to seriously challenge for and win trophies consistently over a good number of years, that would shut the fuckers up or at the very least we wouldn't care what they said then.

Meh. It's becoming largely an irrelevance what the media say. Their narrative is and will always be shaped by results. When we go on a 10 game winning run it'll be back to "Guardiola's the best manager in the world" "City have the best squad in the world" etc.

This morning's headlines are exactly what you'd expect if the manager of a top four club with title aspirations says something like "maybe i'm not good enough to coach these players".

Anfield is like a morgue if the dippers don't score in the first 10. But the narrative is always about that famous Anfield atmosphere!

Where else do the camera's pan into the crowd, and drool over their great support?

That's right, St James Park. The bastion of empty seats, but now full again because Newcastle are winning.

Time and again it's the same narrative, rehashed.

It's bullshit, but sweet smelling bullshit is good bullshit, however you pitchfork it and throw it about.
