It's the Arabic Holistic approach.
Our owners don't want confrontation, especially in the media. They will tell those running the club to have a quiet word, and to carry on pampering the journalists who churn out this shit on a daily basis, in the hope that they will change their narrative.(they won't)
Unfortunately, and to be fair to the club, a lot of negative writing about the club isn't within their reach. You just have to go on news now man city. Negative, after negative article about Pep, Sergio, the club, etc, rehashed. Tiresome.
Unfortunately as fans and on BM we've been banging on about this for years. I think our only success was against BT, when the club did pull them in, and BT admitted they had screwed us over, especially on the CL coverage.
Unfortunately what the top bod's at City say goes. The management their is very structured, tiered, and trickle down. THERE'S NO ACCESS TO THE IMPORTANT PEOPLE AT CITY ANYMORE.(club policy) Those at the top make the decisions, and those under them implement them without question. To exaggerate, it's a bit like the Borg, The collective. Told and implement.
Gone is the City we knew where the club listened and engaged freely and openly with the fans. Now everything is done within. Behind closed doors. Nobody needs to know what's going on, or what's planned, especially the fans. And even the good people at City, those who are and want to be approachable have fallen in line. For them it's a job for life, a good career with opportunities, and a very good salary. They aren't going rock the MCFC boat and risk their careers.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your now point of view, we all signed up for the Sheikh Mansour ride when he bought the club. And that includes the way the club is now run.
Sigh. :-(
