He gets my support but disappointed we didn’t go all out for vinnie or enrique. Or maybe we did and they said now. Or maybe we did and they said not yet. Regardless if maresca is appointed he has my supportOkay i get it people might not like maresca but this is the part i don't get, the club gets more right than it does wrong and the two people they brought in pre pep both won a title and whos to say they wouldnt have won more given time and maybe just maybe they might have asked pep his opinion and he has suggested maresca and if we all think as highly of pep as we should then maybe we should respect his opinion and on top of that lets not forget that captain black and vinnie are both pep disciples and are both doing very well, (annoyingly in captain blacks case). Is it a case of him not being a shiny new toy that enrique is? The biggest name is not always the best option.
Neither vinnie or enrique would want to be the guy that followp pep, i admire maresca for having the stones to do it.He gets my support but disappointed we didn’t go all out for vinnie or enrique. Maybe with his contacts he tempt Corradi back lolThat’s your right. I’m just saying I wouldn’t be day dreaming about other possibilities at this point :)
Who would you have been overwhelmed by that would be a great fit for us.Look I will support any manager of city just feel underwhelmed at this appointment
He managed Parma as wellAfter watching some videos and interviews with Enzo Maresca, I’m honestly not that concerned. It’s basically going to be Pep light, which is still a hell of a lot better than Pep nothing. The guy is clearly tactics obsessed and I think he has a very high football IQ. Whether he can fully control a locker room the way Pep does is probably still TBD, but from a pure football standpoint, I think he absolutely gets it.
I think what scares people is just how small the body of work is. You basically have the Leicester season where they won the Championship and then the Chelsea stint, which ended kind of oddly, but honestly I almost give anyone a pass for what Chelsea has become under that ownership structure. It’s chaos.
One thing that did stand out to me though was the Club World Cup final. I thought he genuinely outcoached Enrique, and that’s not nothing.
I’m honestly excited to see what he can do at a club where everybody is aligned with the same vision and the same goals instead of walking into the circus environment Chelsea has had the last few years.
You think the club are going to tread water for 3 years on the off chance Vinnie or Enrique make themselves available. No chance we aren’t that club anymore. If they appoint Maresca now it’s because he’s the best available but also they expect him to keep driving us forward and win things,if he does he’ll stay longer.I get the feeling that he's more of a caretaker appointment than the long term answer. I'm a bit underwhelmed but completely trust the club they've done their homework.
I can imagine Maresca being a safe pair of hands and knows the systems. He's not likely to disrupt anything.
Maybe when the next man they want is available, we go in hard for him? I would imagine that's either the lad at PSG or Vinnie?
In what way does he know the players though?I'm looking forward to the change, he'll hit the ground running he knows the players and he has served some sort of apprenticeship.
