Enzo Maresca

If there is one club that seem to know how to exploit contractual loopholes, it is Chelsea. As we have seen with their Trenasfers, PSR creativity, Hotel sale, and circumnavigating punishment for blatant breaches of rules.

They'll likely have something to push here.

It's not me flapping mate
i love flappers

light one up,
crack open a bockle,
make a brew,
whatever it is you do in life,
but just look at this for a few minutes, one by one...

I did not mean to suggest that they were going to do so in this instance. I meant to describe the penalties for tapping up. Van Dijk was involved in a dispute which led to a delay in his transfer.

Usually tapping up is hard to prove but in this case Maresca's reported contact to his club bosses making this case highly unusual.

If Maresca is appointed by the end of the week then it will make little impact on his results but that was not evident this morning.

Fair enough mate.

My point was there’s no rush to appoint him - even if it takes another couple of weeks - as it doesn’t materially change how we (or he) would be operating during that timescale anyway.

Viana will be working on any new signings, with input from Maresca I’m sure.

The players are all away at the moment, so any prep Maresca would be doing at this point isn’t the kind of visible work that would land him in trouble before a formal announcement - so he’ll be working pretty much as he would if he’d been announced already.

Everyone knows who our Manager is going to be next season, so whether we announce him now or in a couple of weeks makes no difference.

Ahh ffs, just seen what’s happened.

It explains all the stories late last year /early this year linking him with us.
Why the fuck would he report it to Chelsea?
It was in his contract to inform Chelsea if he spoke to other clubs. If he hadn't told them and they found out, he would owe them millions.

The relevant PL Rule: J.3 (25-26).

That covers nearly every PL transfer!

I'd be confident that the club did not approach him with the view of offering employment without the consent of the other club. Nor attempt to induce him.to terminate his contract.
