I remember the service train we were on breaking down on the way to the game and a copper saying to us at Huddersfield stay calm lads you're winning 1 nil.we were on that train stuck near stalybridge,we had had to go into town from ashton to get it,all for it to break down in ashton/stalybridge going to huddlesfield. i thought we got in just before half time with a police escort.
There probably was one in there somewhere. Good luck finding it!I was there not behind goal though on side, even back then I was looking at the linesman felt sure there would be a foul in there somewhere :-)
I was at that game when we lost 1-0, think they were already down and we had nothing to play for. Remember talking to some cops at the railway station who had travelled up with the City fans, think that was about the time the governor’s got busted. And lost to them towards very end of season 1-0; think they’d already been relegated by then. Pretty sparse following in away end that day compared to the cup games
Blimy you must have been on same coach as me picked us up on King St in Duky, mind you in them days Potter often ran more than one bus.Indeed, we were in the seats with Potter's Beer Monsters from Denton
