Epic last minute celebration….

I was there. When we scored someone behind me shouted "Oh no. I can't afford another f**king replay!"

we were on that train stuck near stalybridge,we had had to go into town from ashton to get it,all for it to break down in ashton/stalybridge going to huddlesfield. i thought we got in just before half time with a police escort.
I remember the service train we were on breaking down on the way to the game and a copper saying to us at Huddersfield stay calm lads you're winning 1 nil.
The silence in the ground as Gidman struck the ball, 2 seconds later chaos in our end.
Always remember the spotters at this game as our end was constantly filmed from behind the goal.
The yorkies were well up for it at the final whistle

And lost to them towards very end of season 1-0; think they’d already been relegated by then. Pretty sparse following in away end that day compared to the cup games
I was at that game when we lost 1-0, think they were already down and we had nothing to play for. Remember talking to some cops at the railway station who had travelled up with the City fans, think that was about the time the governor’s got busted.

Remember that game well, living on the Fylde coast my dad was determined to go, knowing what it would be like tried to dissuade him. My sister worked with a Blackpool director and got us tickets in the South stand which I knew was frequented by Blackpools top boys. My dad fortunately realised the company we were in and kept quiet. We decided to leave a minute early as the atmosphere was so hostile and missed the final goal, just glad to get away in one piece. Loved it when we beat them in the replay. Blackpool cheeky with us at this time, but were spanked at both games in the third division.
