Well, I wasn't buying the rumour initially but now I am sitting up

Eric Garcia is a cule and if Barca ask for him to return, he'd accept

Ah the barca clicks their fingers and players come running,he is having his break through time with pep,you know the one who extended his contract here instead of going back to barca...

Eric left Barca as a kid, I doubt he'd be going back so soon. Just take a look at Todibo. Shoved out on a loan at a Bundesliga struggler. He'll be going nowhere especially with Pep still here

Garcia arrived 3 years ago but the Catalan played at the club since he was 7 yrs old

All I know is Pep is our legend but cules dream of flourishing at their club & a legitimate source says player would welcome a return.

I did not envision him returning so soon but this is not a baseless rumor

Yes that may be true but just think about it Logically, despite the reliable source.

Eric's entourage is Puyol & De La Peña. The reason they made him move was because of the state of your board.

And that situation at Barca has gotten worse sporting project wise & financially since he left...

So why do you believe Eric would go back? Especially on a free/cheap in 2021?

Do we know who the new board is going to be in 2021?

Quique Setien's Contract can be terminated by the new board in 2021 if they so wish to do so.

What if the newly appointed manager does not have Eric in his immediate plan, what for him now?

Things change at club all the time, including boards and depth at certain positions

Worst kept secret is that Xavi will soon be coach and Puyol as SD.

Why now? I could only speculate- unfulfilled in England or less 1st team opportunities? Perhaps he sees a path to 1st team easier at Barça since depth is an issue along with aging Piqué & gimpy Umtiti

A free in 2021 actually makes perfect sense for a board like this since they wouldn’t want to pay for a cantera player

Our own fault for not playing him enough when he’s clearly been ready for the last seasons. I’ll be gutted if he leaves.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he pissed off as well seeing as he’s had little game time and we’ve had those clown otemendi and Stones stinking out all season.

Always failing to see the big picture

1)Mate so who is going to be your board member in 2021?

2 )How many Candidates and what are their chances of Winning?

3 )So will Pep play Eric Garcia until he leaves on a free in 2021? Or maybe Eric gets benched for a year and then goes to be a starter for Barca?

4)How tall is Eric Garcia?

5)On what date Did Eric Garcia turn 19 years old?

6)What's the "common requirement" to be a successful CB in England?

7)And despite this, how Much game time did Eric Garcia get in the 1st team compared to other young CB on Barca's books?

Stop lying to yourself man...
Eric Garcia will run down his contract for a year.
Xavi will come back.
Puyol SD
Eric Garcia will be a Barca Starter in 2021
Man City want to buy your Barcelona Rejects Semedo & Sergi Roberto.

Stop letting Nobita lie to you like that.

1) Who is going to be the President & board, you mean?
No idea. Perhaps Font (Especially if he aligns with Laporta) with Xavi & potentially Puyol

2) How many Candidates and what are their chances of Winning?
Only candidates declared already were Font & Bartomeu's handpicked successor (Rousaud) who was pushed out of the current board so safe to say he is no longer a consideration. I think/hope someone outside of Barto & Rosell's sphere of influence will emerge since there is growing discontent with the board (Long overdue)

3) So will Pep play Eric Garcia until he leaves on a free in 2021?
I believe the approach for any club/coach is to convince a player of your project & plan for the player. Obviously Eric bought into it else he wouldn't have left Barca in 2017 when it was clear the club valued him. Would Pep relegate him to the bench if he is intent on leaving? I don't believe Pep is vindictive like this, especially when it comes to La Masia players - he knows their plight better than most. But he's also manager of City so I suspect he would already begin to plan for life without him if his intentions are indeed to leave - although that doesn't preclude Guardiola from still getting the most out of him while he's there, just that he'd have to plan for a replacement.

4) How tall is Eric Garcia?
Listed as 1.83m, how accurate is that? No idea

5) On what date Did Eric Garcia turn 19 years old?
DOB is 09.01.2001

6) What's the "common requirement" to be a successful CB in England?
Not my area of interest as to what, if any, is the most common requirement for a central defender in Premiership. I know Garcia's strengths & weaknesses and he continues to reflect the great talent he has always been at Barca - so there'd always be a future for him at the club.

7) And despite this, how Much game time did Eric Garcia get in the 1st team compared to other young CB on Barca's books?
City benefit from continuity of management & coach - Barcelona are on their 3rd coach since Eric left, possibly a 4th before a potential return. Continuity and sporting direction factor into that which also had a great deal to do with Eric's decision to leave in the first place. But as I have said earlier, one thing you can count on in life is change and dynamics of the club are in flux. Plus, cantera players (Especially Catalans) are drawn to return - you don't have to accept or like it but it's a reality.

As for the rest of your comments - Rumours and the entorno at Barcelona are nothing new, some are more credible than others but few are legitimately 1st tier - Oriol Domenech is one of them which is why I take his info more seriously than any of the other rumours ongoing atm. That and the fact that Lautaro is a priority, the rest is media fodder the board & agents use to manipulate the market

Plus, Domenech spoke about it and the substance of it came from the player's camp - it did not emanate from Barca or local media

Interesting development FC Barca - and I’d share your trust in the source, so this isn’t one we should dismiss just because we don’t like the content.

I see this one as being all about timing. It’s well publicised that City are trying to agree a new contract with Eric this summer, and if he were to sign, that would likely close the door on any move back home for the next couple of seasons at least.

This reads to me as his entourage trying to flush out Barca’s interest before progressing anything with City. I have no doubt if Barca came in with an offer this summer, he’d be off - I’m not naive enough to think otherwise - and I imagine City would let him go as we’d lose him for nothing in 12 months. See Sane and Bayern this summer.

However I’d imagine City are putting a lot of pressure on the kid to commit this year, with promises of game time and trust, so I’d expect there to be implications in terms of his role at the Club if he doesn’t reciprocate. I’d be very surprised if our Club allows this to drift into next season as is. In reality, decision time for Eric is now - not next year, when it suits Barca.

Given how fucked Barca are financially at the moment - and their focus on Lautaro, I just don’t see him as a priority this summer. Which I see as a very good thing for City.

The timing is with us, not Barca. Now if his contract was up the year after, I’d agree we have a much bigger problem!

Zero Idea on who the new President will be.

Many Candidates. Juan Laporta & Victor Font are very much in disagreement, so the both of them having a strong campaign could further divide the votes.

So Garcia, a Frail (same body type as Foden) 1.83m Tall CB, with about very little pace, barely any leeping power.. has played about 900 Minutes of First team football in England... As a 19 year old.

Let me tell you, Eric could be rated as high as De Ligt was during his CL run last year, and I could barely tell you of a PL club that would let him play as a starting CB at 19... Or even 20... Even the consensus amongst our own fans is that Garcia will not succeed in England...
But despite all this, he has played 900 minutes for Pep at 19 years old.

i)Barcelona's sporting project has continuously spiraled into a downward mess since Garcia left.

ii)Manchester City's sporting project has continuity and is becoming more and more focused on Youth development.

So with will that in mind, what do you choose to believe? Is it..

1) Reliable Info from Garcia's entourage
2) Fake news from Barca's side
3) Negotiation tactic from Garcia's entourage to get a better deal at City?
