I would say that title is now past it's sell by date.
He was without doubt the best coach in the world, hand on heart I don't think it is longer true.
Who is, and why?

If there’s any accuracy in this, it’s a worrying picture. It's worth saying that in 16/17 Pep made every effort not to use Zabaleta. Hart and Mangala were sent away at the first opportunity. It was known that he wasn't a big fan of Clichy or Sagna either, particularly with the latters injury problems. And only rated Kolarov as a CB. He played Navas and Fernandinho as fullbacks if he could get away with it. He also abstained from using Touré for the first half of the season, and barely used Fernando in the second half of it. The season after Touré barely featured. The season after Delph was effectively banished after he got a red card. As this season has gone on, he's used Silva, Otamendi, and Stones less and less. Bernardo has found himself marginalised. Mahrez has been slowly pushed aside too as the season closed. Zinchenko has effectively disappeared.
It's probably not a coincidence either that he only used 2 subs against Lyon, even if it was wrong to do so.
I'd wager with Pep that if he doesn't see value in you at the time of asking, you don't play unless you have to. He's VERY ruthless like that. Probably too much so. There are some players he loves (as players, not people to be clear), and they always play: Sterling, De Bruyne, Walker, Ederson, Rodri, Laporte. And then there are the players he likes, the ones he'll happily play but maybe doesn't think the world of them, at least right now (due to being young, due to being old, due to not quite being the right level of quality but showing all the other good signs etc): Fernandinho, Silva, Aguero, Jesus, Gundogan, Mendy, Foden, Garcia, Mahrez, Bravo. And then there's everyone else; I'm playing you because I have to or you have a specific skillset that could come in handy. The fact I feel Bernardo is here is a concern. It's worth adding here that until Cancelo improved his attitude after the lockdown period he wasn't being used much either.
We're not seeing it publicly but I'd wager there are a lot of players Pep is absolutely livid with at the moment. Some he wants nothing to do with and some that he thinks seriously need to get their acts together. I think the club know that and that's why we're making big moves in the summer market. But that's why we're seeing certain players uninvolved even though they maybe ought to be.
Pep, his record in Europe for both us and Bayern makes the "best coach in the world label" look invalid.Who is, and why?

Both City and Bayern had squads under his tenure that should have progressed further than they did.
Pep football principles are outstanding but sometimes not all games are winnable with total football, sometimes you have to fight it out to win the battle.
And he seems to have serious self doubt in the latter stages of the Champions League, team selections and tactics on Saturday were plain weird and very over thought, again he did the same at Bayern.
No idea and I don't care.So who is ('the best in the world') and why?
No idea and I don't care.
But I do care when we are beaten by inferior sides and it has happened far too many times this season.
Norwich, Southampton, Wolves, United, Arsenal , Spurs, Chelsea and Lyon.
We should not be losing games like we have with the players we have available.
If a manager with a lesser reputation had this team we would be demanding he was fired.
We have had issues from the early part of the season with defending, they were never addressed with new additions or more valid a change of tactics. And for that I think Pep has a lot to answer for.
He has made some stranges decisions this season, ie playing Angelino at Anfield, basically hanging him to dry.His tactics/attitude to the derby games, worrying and insulting to the fan base and finally the bizarre decisions on Saturday.
Liverpool's season is not a freak, the 2nd consecutive season they have done it. We put together a quite incredible run last season to take the title. So are you saying he should be sacked?
I think it is a bit of a pointless comment, claiming he isnt the best, without suggesting someone that is. Really doesn't matter either way.
And for the record, no i wouldn't be calling for a sack if it was any other manager, after a season where we finished second in a freak liverpool year, won a cup and shield and gone as far as before in CL, semis of fa.cup. Not for a manager that won 8 trophies in the last 3 years, and shows no signs that won't win more. To sack such a manager for an average seadon would be short sighted and disloyal. We are not chelsea.

I did not say sack him, but as a club we need to ask him serious questions about why we fail in what is the ultimate ambition of our owners , winning the Champions League.
Does he intend to stay with us in the medium term? a very valid question and if the answer is no, then yes I would let him leave immediately.
Any manager in the last year of a contract is a dead man walking, however good they are.
Because he and pep are professionals and grownups, with a job tl do for this club.
Not arguing it was the right decision, but while he is our player, that decision is there for the making
