He's good for his age, could become very good. He's not a giant but neither is he small - I think people forget how much weaker you are at that age, just look at how much Foden's improved in the last year or so

So which previous young central defenders were weaker than him at that age ?

My point was we could have played someone else against Leicester we had alternatives just not the ones we would normally wish for and if what is being said is the case he shouldn't be on the bench either.

Perhaps we just expected him to be professional and do the job he's paid for? After all he is a born leader according to the fake Barca fan we have on here.

Laporte clearly wasn’t fit enough to start after having Covid, Stones was injured (again), Otamendi we’d actually managed to find someone to pay us €15m for - which is frankly remarkable, and clearly an accounting trick - and couldn’t risk him, Harwood-Bellis isn’t ready, Fernandinho was needed in midfield.

I’m not sure we did have any alternatives- shite attitude or not!
