Eric Garcia to Barcelona

We accepted 2m for Tosin who was one of the best CBs in the Championship but didn't accept 15m for Eric !
Not about the money bud, all about business & principles.

As someone posted earlier I really hope they loaned that player out on the back of thinking they'd 100% got this deal through.

The money they were offering considering they want him for PR more than a player was pathetic.

Off to Preston/Oldham/Rochdale young Eric to save us paying all his wages. Nothing massively against the lad but it's the wrong time to be a pawn between City and them.

Any club big or small will think twice before trying it with us.

LOL, however this is a case of City calling the shots and I am glad of that.

I'd usually agree but can't with this.

I'd rather we got rid of Garcia and negotiated a better fee for Tosin.

It's no good standing up to Barca if we bend over for Fulham.

Barca now have 4 CB's, Umtiti is a big flop, one complete unproven youngster, and old Pique and Lenglet who is their best CB now.
But Busquets imo could step back into defence any moment, he has the intelligency to do well there imo but games coming every 3 days for them too, will be interesting to see how they cope in CB position, especially with 1-2 injuries.

But Garcia would have been 3rd choice easily in that setup, while here he is maybe 4th/5th CB and should not play much over the next few months. I would not play him ahead of H. Bellis or Stones, he does not want to be here, after a late deadline fuck up he might not even puts in 100% anymore for us.

So why didn't we get a better offer from Championship teams. City have often accepted relatively low fees for players who have been with the club from a young age and don't have a realistic chance of regular first team games. They like to support graduates long term careers even if it is away from City, it is part of their philosophy.

That is what I was trying to say ( really badly) on the Tosin thread.
