Stones can't get a game at the moment, even as a back up, so I'm not sure what the clubs thinking is in keeping him around and then playing Garcia ahead of him (I appreciate that partly may be his own doing by wanting to fight for his spot).
If you're not selling Garcia, Stones has to go and vice versa. We don't need 5 senior CBs, especially as Fernandinho is more than capable of filling in as emergency cover when required and we should be providing THB with some opportunities in the cup games.
I don't think we will sell Garcia at that price, but I don't think that's going to be the best for squad harmony and we'll just be creating a situation where we have 2 players that don't want to be here.
For all of Stones' issues/mistakes, he's always been committed to City, where the same can't be said for Garcia who's actively trying to leave the club.
My view, sell Garcia (as it was in the summer), get a bit of cash for the summer funds, give Stones one last crack of the whip in the second half of the season - otherwise he remains behind 4 other CBs and, bar a crisis, is unlikely to get that opportunity and renders him being here this season completely pointless, whilst his value as a player continues to plummet.
