Eric Garcia to Barcelona

Purportedly Barca will make an offer of 8M in January as Koeman doesn't want to wait until summer

If true then I hope that City just tell Barca to fuck off and wait till they can have him for free.

It's not as though we will miss the money or the player, but Barca are showing themselves to be arrogant cheapskates , and that attitude just deserves contempt.

You will smugly cream yourself with the thought of getting the player for nothing no doubt, but hopefully when Garcia has gone, you will follow too like the pathetic love-sick puppy you reveal in your posts.

I think Txiki and Pep would only let him go in January in a swap with Messi. We don't need 8m and didn't need 15m.
Garcia is our reliable backup for Dias in an extraordinary season with matches left and right till May or June or whenever it's over.

Pep is glad to have him until then. And yourself will have to explain another 2,000 times why Pep does. Poor bugger you ;)

His only use to us now is as a rotation player to look after Laporte, Dias and Ake.

That makes the €8m not worth having in Jan.

While I would rather give games to THB, it's clear Pep obviously has more faith in Garcia at this point (still unsure why) and thinks the squad is stronger with him in it. So think he'll be here unless Barca increase the offer.

Offer 8 mill and he's waiting until the summer.
That appears to be the plan

Barça could announce Eric García in January. Barça will finish closing the agreement and could formally announce that it will sign the player for free in the summer. If City is willing to negotiate, he could come in winter

Stones can't get a game at the moment, even as a back up, so I'm not sure what the clubs thinking is in keeping him around and then playing Garcia ahead of him (I appreciate that partly may be his own doing by wanting to fight for his spot).

If you're not selling Garcia, Stones has to go and vice versa. We don't need 5 senior CBs, especially as Fernandinho is more than capable of filling in as emergency cover when required and we should be providing THB with some opportunities in the cup games.

I don't think we will sell Garcia at that price, but I don't think that's going to be the best for squad harmony and we'll just be creating a situation where we have 2 players that don't want to be here.

For all of Stones' issues/mistakes, he's always been committed to City, where the same can't be said for Garcia who's actively trying to leave the club.

My view, sell Garcia (as it was in the summer), get a bit of cash for the summer funds, give Stones one last crack of the whip in the second half of the season - otherwise he remains behind 4 other CBs and, bar a crisis, is unlikely to get that opportunity and renders him being here this season completely pointless, whilst his value as a player continues to plummet.

What a fucking pathetic football club FCB are. Honestly they've fallen so far it'll be another 10 years before they come anywhere near their peak under Pep. Utterly finished. The mirror of Man United in their desperate attempts to use the media to remain relevant.

Looks like we were right to keep him until January at least. He'll probably stay until the summer as well if we can't either get Stones back in the side or replace him in January.

They can have him in January, for whatever they offered in October. If that was what they were prepared to pay, less than 3 months later that shouldn't have changed. City take a bit of a hit, knowing he's gone anyway, and Barcelona get to secure him for the rest of this season, rather than waiting till September next year. They also get him in while they can still offer him champions league football, which next year migh not be the case.
