Eric Garcia to Barcelona

Size is no protection... plenty of large corporations get into financial difficulty when they overstretch themselves and see income plummet just when they need to invest. Barca may have huge income but you have no cash reserves... just massive liabilities.

Just massive liabilities, nothing else eh? I think that's a pretty naive conclusion

None of those big corporations to fail were in a similar situation as Barca. The only thing that can continue to hurt the club is COVID preventing fans back to the stadium along with the football tourism that comes to the city. Steady income, a new stadium to increase revenue further, stadium naming rights, La Masia to produce local talent and better financial management to avoid the wage disaster Barto et al were guilty of is what is needed more than anything

It's currently a mess but there is a course correction coming which makes the gloom & doom prognostications infantile

When Garcia was playing EDS we all had high hopes given his maturity etc but once he started getting first team games I think we all saw his flaws.

I don’t think you necessarily need to be the quickest to be a top centre half but when you’re also too short and have a habit of making a few misplaced passes, he was never going to make it.

no hard feelings that he wants to leave, he’s a Spanish lad with the option of being 1st choice at Barca or 5th choice at City - it’s a no brainier for the kid.

my only gripe is pep’s persistence in playing him after his head had been turned but that’s not Garcia’s fault.

good luck to him but hopefully has a stinker if he has to face us in future
Got no problem with him wanting to go home and play for a top club there.

He’s too slow and too short for me to ever be a top centre half and that’s not bitterness, I am objective enough to not let it cloud my judgement and I am still gutted we lost Sane, as he’s a genuine talent.

Massive liabilities... €488m of debt and loans of over €800m when revenues are falling... football will not emerge from the pandemic unscathed. What will the annual interest payments be on this level of debt? Barcelona have big problems and prudent management will be required- there won’t be cheque book signings for some time I suspect.

The delusion...the next board should play the euro lottery and hope they win every week for the next 50 years.

Yep, cracked it. All you need to solve the issue of lack of money, is, money. Bravo.

FCBarca.. How often do you actually go to Barcelona games out of curiosity?
As for you getting Garcia on a free transfer.. You are most welcome to him.
Nothing against him as such but he's not a world beater.. He's not very quick not dominant in the air but he's a cule eh
