Real will pick Benzema till he cant run he is 1st on team sheet, Junior has been class this year so signing both Mbappa & Haaland ain't happening imo

Raul, Higuain, Ronaldo, Figo, Fake Ronaldo etc etc etc.

No matter the stature of player at Real Madrid, when it is time for an upgrade, they get moved on. Raul. Fucking, Raul. Club legend, adored by fans, still legs and goala in him, cheerio when kaka and cronaldo needed made room for. Higuain, 'like a son' to the president, adios. Benzema will be the same.

Yes also they pushed out Ramos and Varane fairly easily.

Difference is Benzema at an old age still influential in terms of form and goals/general play. In a way like Lewandowski is still mad. I think Benzema has one more year in him at a top level.

But fair play to Real if they can fuck Hazard/Bale off and cut their losses in the same summer they get in Mbappe/Haaland for a fee of 65m. These two can be the two most high profile player in the next 10 years after the CR/Messi era.

I think it will be very hard to beat Perez in this transfer.

What makes you think he has only one more year? He has quite a few years left playing at high level, easily.
I remember a comment Perez maybe a year or even less ago when he said something like “our attack is a bunch of children”, meaning “too young”, so I think he values keeping Benzema for some while there as the experienced one

I think the scenery has changed a lot since those times, as every player wanted to play in La Liga, and RM and Barcelona were dominating European football. This is no longer the case, the EPL now has the best managers in the world, the majority of the best players, and is the place to play.

We supplied both team in last seasons Champions League, this season three of the four EPL teams won their group, and all qualified.

I just think the draw to Spain has dwindled since their domination, not helped by the capitulation of Barcelona because of the financial naivety, and frankly I think it is laughable that they are even mentioning Haaland. How many strikers do they need on their books that they cannot register? Unlike some of the Spanish players who just want to go home, Haaland and such like want to win major trophies, Barcelona, if they continue in the same form, will be lucky to qualify for the Champions League next season.

La Liga is in terrible shape, but that doesn't mean two spanish giants allure and draw will also be disminished. For majority player in the world even today, playing for those two club is still dream come true. Not because money, manager, or playing alongside best player. But because they still have that kind prestige that many of player will want to play for them despite the circumstance they currently have right now.

I agree with that. My point was the lack of sentiment at Real Madrid, and how quickly Benzema would get discarded for a newer shinier toy if available.

Unlikely. Dortmund are a well-run club, they’ve enough cash (thanks Jason Sancho) to not have to worry about short term matchday revenue losses.

The only way he moves in January would be sudden and intense pressure from the Haaland camp because there’s not much left for BVB to play for in 2022.

Raiola doesn’t seem to be heading that way and Watzke has said he’s staying in winter, so summer move it is, wherever that may be.
Dortmund recorded a 75M euro loss last season. Some of that money was recouped by the Sancho deal but they are currently looking to raise a further 86M euros though share options to cover the running costs for the next 18 months.

They definitely need money

Thanks - didn’t know. Thought they were in a good place, financially speaking.

They raised that in Sept.

External investment? I though that was a massive no-no in football? So much for 'organic' growth
