I suspect that went over his head...Let him eat cake mate, let him eat cake.

Yaya’s agent comments and his musings were towards the end of his career and prior to that he was exemplary. Sometime some people just remember the bad bits. Yaya was colossus. Without Yaya (and Silva) City would not have achieved what we have.
Most top players are arseholes, most footballers are areholes but as long as they perform on the pitch who cares.
Yaya was magnificent for us, a match winner on the biggest occasions, a wonderful sight in full flow.
Inaccurate, him & his agent were bad throughout and simply got louder in each successive season
As a player, he had his moments that mitigated the headache they could be but on balance? There's a reason why Pep was happy to sell him in 2010 due to his demands in terms of wages, minutes & effort in defense
I would have thought if a player was to have a lasting statue made for them at any club, then both on and off field contributions are considered. He was an absolute colossus for us.
Makes me sad that it seems there will be statues outside the Etihad for Vinny, Kun and David but not Yaya. He was every bit as important to our history but unfortunately attracted too much controversy that soured the relationship with both club and fans.

You have answered yourself why it is unlikely we won't be seeing a bronze of Yaya, rightly so imo
You're welcomeNo question to answer. Simply stated it's sad he won't have a statue and addressed why but thanks again for your input
Couldn't agree more the time is this summer so many of our rivals for him struggling badly financially this summer we could get a free run at him just hope we dont throw all our eggs in the messi basket. Some of these numbers may not be accurate but if a club goes for a player with a release clause they tend to pay a big chunk of money to agents. Raiola made some 40 odd millions for the transfers of Pogba and Haaland alone.
If we are serious about this transfer and its pretty obvious we should be , we need to overpay for this guy summer 2021.
Yes I did use the word overpay because the summer after that when the release clause kicks in, there would be multiple teams fighting for his signature and he would probably go to the club who can pay Raiola the most.
We don't do any of that.
We don't get in bidding wars with exorbitant wages for players or paying ridiculous amounts to agents.
Because there would be a club/clubs in the summer of 2022 who would agree to pay some 350k wage to Haaland some 35 mil to Raiola if they get him on a cheap release clause of 60 million.
I can bet my 100 dollars it won't be us.
Let's get this done this summer itself. Imagine Messi and Haaland playing for us. Man that's gonna cure Covid!
