City , United , Chelsea will all be linked with 50 players though in January by different journalists, none will have a clue.
I realise occasionally a club might want to leak something, but as a general rule, confidentiality and secrecy would be the ideal.

Dias for example, did City brief a journo?
There were a dozen other Cb s nailed on before I heard about Dias.

Of course I bow to your superior knowledge and experience.
If you look back before City were linked to Koulabily you will see quotes off Pep wanting Dias then it goes quite.

No doubt about it City wanted to drag Napoli along & as long as they could to get back at them for the Jorginio fiasco

Dias was done & dusted & only the few that mattered knew inc no journos imo why should they, maybe City used a few journos to keep the Koulabily deal going we only have to look at the bullshit Romano kept putting over social media every week hes coming hes not Napoli want 90m then 80m but they will take 70m laughing stock even us City fans got pissed off with it all only to see Ruben walk through the door & the rest is history

Is this some sort of creative fiction writing exercise?

No news on Haaland then I take it considering we’ve had a few pages about journo steers and Koulibaly?

There hasn't been any news on Haaland on this thread since it was started pal. His wearing blue shoes and walking around the badge was about as strong as a transfer link got.

It's well known that Dias was considered out of City's price range until Benfica unexpectedly failed to qualify for the CL.

Benfica had to find money to meet the budget shortfall and that pressure to sell brought them to the table.

I'm pretty sure Txiki and team have better things to do than "get back" at people.
