There is no concrete agreement with Haaland at present and Dortmund don't want to do a deal with anyone this Winter.

City aren't going to talk themselves away from the bidding, but remain guarded and unimpressed with Mino and are absolutely sure he is trying to get him to Madrid.

We know all the related costs and they aren't the issue.

City and Pep refusing to be stalled much longer, as we do have people in January we can move on to.

I'm sure we can wait for Haaland, but only if we can nail down some sort of pre-contract agreement in Jan that can be announced.

Mino certainly isn't hesitant to mention madrid whenever he can. It is almost as if he wants or thinks/knows his client wants a move to Real. But possible the deal he wants isn't all there, so keeping them intereated while not taking anything else off the table, for clubs interested in him next summer.

By that same logic, maybe whatever offer we might be prepared to make isn't quite what he expects, and he is using his madrid flirts as a push.

Whether it works, if indeed that is what he is playing at, for either, time will tell.

To be fair, they are known for paying huge wages and signing on fees, so agents will always try and get them to buy their players.

Agree. Madrid are being squeezed financially. Everyone assumes Mbbape is going there. Haaland as well? They cant have both. Something has to give and I think the Mbappe deal is much easier for them.

I did think about mentioning all the other players they are routinely linked with. The way i see it:

Pogba to PSG
Mbappe to R Madrid.

These seem like easy deals to get done.

They are losing Marcelo, Isco, Modric, Bale off the wages bill..

Mbappe and Pogba filling that on a free move seems logical over having to pay a transfer as well. Big summer coming up.

I think PSG might buy Richarlison to replace Mbappe, he's very highly rated by his Brazil teammates, inc Neymar who he has a good partnership in the national side. Plus he's the kind of hard working forward they'll need to offset the other 2 and would get 20+ a season for PSG.

Agree - I actually suggested we go for him at one point and got laughed at. He's a bit hit and miss - literally. But then so is Sterling.
