I am desperate for him to sign, if nothing else he will bring a whole new dimension to our attacking options. Defenders will not be able to nudge him off the ball as they do with the likes of Sterling.
me too but for different reasons . assuming he signs on June 1st he could get injured in his first game and we would have had 3 months of piss boiling , of hurt and fear. even better get Kane in as his understudy. pmsl.

I know it's exactly what you'd expect but it's getting pretty frustrating that the mainstream media are going out of their way to make sure everyone and their dog know that we've apparently offered him £500k a week. The only time the actual release clause gets mentioned they put it into euros to make it seem that bit more. Did the media go out of their way to report on how much Ronaldo is getting each week when he went back to the rags? Neymar when he moved to PSG? Signing one of the best and most prolific players in the world at such a young age for £63m is insanely good business in the current football climate but of course they'd never go with that angle.

The timing of payments is irrelevant to how the transfer fee is expensed.

I never claim to be expert in anything but I am qualified to comment on this.
as i stated i yield to the accountants, and no i'm not an accountant

sure i read somewhere we were trying to avoid paying the fee in one go but i dont generally worry about the fees we spend as it isn't my cash, I just get to enjoy the results

historically wasn't the rule that transfers in the same country (was it same league? ) had to be paid in 12 months but international transfers can be spread over the contract ?

My eyes have seen the glory of the sacred wonderkind
You took me behind a disused railway line
And said, "I know a place where we can go
Where we are not known"
And you gave me something that I won't forget too soon

Nah I mean he was thick in the sense he let himself get tied down to a six year deal with no escape
I’m guessing you believe all City players are thick & you don’t want them at City in that case as none of them have a release clause in their contract as far as I’m aware?

Guessing you wouldn’t want Salah or Mane or 99% of any other decent UK based players at City either are they won’t have release clauses either

Not got any issues with you not wanting Kane, but I’m afraid your reasoning makes no sense whatsoever as barely anyone has a release clause in the UK mate, including our own ‘thick’ players

So you’d rather have Shaka Hislop & Clarke Carlisle, just because they’re intelligent?

You do realise we’re a football club & not a team on University Challenge don’t you??
Exactly, I've never heard people make a football-based argument for wanting a player based on their general level of intelligence. You can argue that Kane was badly advised or that things didn't turn out as hoped, but if Kane is personally thick for being tied to such a contract then does that make Txiki Begiristain thick for extending the contracts of Patrick Roberts and Eliaquim Mangala?

We all know why people think Harry Kane is thick and why they consider it a problem in his case but not others'. To pretend otherwise is disingenuous.
