Erling Haaland

True, but it's also a pretty open league that gives you more of a basketball vibe in the way teams go back and forth.

I'm gonna reign it in though because it's starting to sound like I'm casting doubt over him and just being negative about him for the sake of it. He's an elite player and it will be exciting to have a player like that in this league.

It's completely fair - a lot his goals I've seen of seem to be more counter attack, but I think it's interesting that he exceeds in a team that does dominate possession. There would definitely be a bedding in period (pressing, potentially slower passing build up) but he also has good movement and scores from all over.

Ballague really is a bitter bastard, and a text book Madrista.

His rant is a copy and paste of what we’ve been discussing on BM since City have been after Haaland. There is no substance to his thoughts, and certainly nothing new.

He’s another football pundit, bullshitter, stealing a living. But this time he’s Spanish, and he’s up Madrids arse!

BBC United at Mediacity have given him the platform to inform and enlighten the nation as to why Haaland may have chosen City over Real Madrid.

I won’t link the article. Parts of the article are below.

'If Benzema wasn't there, Haaland would be a Real player'

"Something has happened in the last couple of weeks, something called Benzema, that has turned the mind of Haaland into 'you know what, I can go to Madrid in two or three years'.

"And that, by the way, was the proposal that City put to him. Not only was it the most attractive financial proposition, they also said 'you're young, stay with us for two or three years, we'll use you well, meanwhile Real Madrid will always be there'.

"If Benzema was not there, [Haaland] would be a Real Madrid player," he added. "The attractiveness of Real Madrid - I would add Barcelona as well - goes beyond any money that Manchester City can offer.
I hear what you're saying , but I also think what he said was also true to an extent. RM and Barca are massive draws for the majority of players.

Madrid having issues with Mbappe , Mbappe wants to own all his image rights. Madrid don’t want that.

So let me get this straight, having courted and tapped him up for nigh on five years, Madrid are suddenly learning Mbappe wants to own 100 per cent of his image rights?

Sounds Kosher. Sounds more like Madrid mouthpieces trying to spin a last yarn out of it!

Their were two instances vs the scousers where KDB crossed and if we were having a conventional striker it would have been a tap in and scoreline could have been 4-2 instead of 2-2. Haaland would suit us just fine and if he is available for the majority of next season he could well get above 30 goals mark.

Preaching to the converted. If KDB reverts to those beautiful crosses from the half space on the right, Haaland will mop up

Is it me being very pessimistic or anyone worried about the recent developments regarding Mbappe and PSG?

If he decides to stay then Madrid will go for haaland with full strength for sure. Hopefully we get it done before that Mbappe tug of war..
I think it's natural to think this way. Let's face it, as much as people say it's done, it's not.

He's said yes to our offer, given his word, yada yada yada, but there's still time for it to go sideways like all deals. That is until the contract is signed.

He said we played the card of “you can stay 2 or 3 years with us and go to Madrid afterwards”lol
It's fairly common knowledge though that City's policy is not to stand in the way of players that want to leave. It may well have been a negotiating tactic to say well let him go rather than meet demands for a low buyout clause for instance

Let us hope that the bollocks that he is coming for 2 or 3 seasons and is fucking of to Madrid is just that. Hopefully he signs a 5 year contract with a 150/200 million release clause.
I wouldn't worry Kun/Dave wouldn't have expected to be here for all their career (well Dave not quite), if he likes it with us, is performing etc he'll be here 'forever' if not, he's not.
