It's not really just Txiki though is it?

These transfers usually involve Soriano, Khaldoon, and possibly even Sheikh Mansour too. A high profile deal such as this absolutely would involve the top brass. Txiki would just be the man on the ground.

I think Khaldoon called Mancini and told him I have present for you, I am bringing Aguero . ( something like that )

But I think since Pep arrival Khaldoon pass all the responsibility to the 3 amigos ( Pep, Txiki & Ferran )

yep! To be honest this point is one of the most annoying ones on social media? If we don’t sign a player it’s all txiki’ fault!? The final decision I imagine is mostly kaldhoon and sorianos as the money men and the guys running the club? Txiki goes out with a remit of what he can and can’t do and negotiates on behalf of the club but will still have to get the thumbs up from his bosses! The whole txiki blew thing is seriously boring and he would get a job instantly at ANY top club in the world if he left us.

Utterly agree.

The reality is also that;

1) We’ve had a very strong side for the last 5+ years and haven’t had players leave us so we haven’t had a desperate need to go out and bust the bank for any single player (though maybe we were a year late in replacing Vinny)

2) There has only been a very limited number of players available that would have improved our team and everyone’s been after them.

3) We’ve been growing our brand over the last 5/10 years and a lot of player find the option of playing in Spain more attractive than England.

Thats however is the past and I feel this deal is different as with COVID I doubt anyone is going to pay stupid money for Halland, he grew up in England & supported us, he is in a position we have a desperate need for, we have the best manager in the world and can offer as good a chance to win medals (including the champions league) as any one in the world.

I can absolutely see him moving to another club but I can’t see anyone has an advantage over us in this transfer tussle, in fact one might argue we’re the leading contender and the team to beat as we can offer him the sporting project, a side which supports there players, the best manager in the world and financial strength to put a deal together, but end of the day this comes down to where he wishes to play and none of us will know that until the summer.

Me to, would be the death of the game for me, can't think of anything I'd rather see less than a European super league ffs. CL is dour enough at times.
Yes, for me it would be the death of the game. Playing European clubs is fine every so often but not as the bread and butter of the season. I never "bump into" Bayern fans or Barcelona fans or any others in my daily life but I do come into contact with dippers and rags and fans of clubs that we're supposed to have outgrown (and it would surprise some to realise just how many fans "unfashionable" clubs actually have) and, for me, football is all about the banter and discussion I have with other fans, of both City and other clubs. Football is all about rivalry for me and it's an all-week game, getting one game out of your system and building up to another. And these rivalries are local, regional and sometimes national. On here we have interesting exchanges with some Spurs fans, Everton supporters make interesting and positive contributions and so on. That's football. But I can't get interested in a match a thousand miles away which would cos a thousand pounds to go and watch and would actually silence the supporters of clubs who weren't acceptable enough to Agnelli to get an "istry passport" to untold riches for doing precisely nothing. That's finance not football, it's not rivalry and it's certainly not an all-week game.

Tosh!!!

He'll go to MU or Liverpool because of their hiStORee!

We stand NO chance, it might aswell be Celtic!

If we sign him he is definitely a future Balon D’Or winner and guarantees us a future Champions League.

If we miss out he looks too much like Greta Thunberg.
Not here he's not, that award is exclusively for players of G14 clubs.
