Yeah they pretty much outbid everyone interested for those 2 as they couldn't spend the summer before and had a bit of spending freedom after that and selling Hazard. Much like the dippers after their spree though, they're now going to have to spend the next few seasons working those signings through the books and for Haaland they're going to be up against clubs with far deeper pockets (by about €100m a season or €600m over the length of a 6 year contract in our case).They are also pushing the narrative of they had competition for Werner and Havertz and beat all the teams to them, even though Werner wanted Liverpool but they couldnt afford him and no one really went head to head for havertz due to price tag
