Okay. Either a troll or a bot. Even added Neymar to the mix, which has never been talked about as a potential signing.

I’m not even quoting it so not to feed it.

Unless you somehow - unlikely IMO - contribute some sort of fact-based, reasonable argument in favor of your posts - I'm going to assume that you're a troll - and will click on ignore for you.

Really - if you feel so strongly in your opinion, can't you provide some sort of rational argument in favor of your opinion? Look - I'm open to discussion to the contrary - I'm no expert. Yet you've offered nothing in support of your position save insults.

Even if you don't think we will sign him, denying there's are reasonable arguments as to why we would seems strange.
The only true facts are known to a very small circle I'd imagine but there's plenty of circumstantial evidence that points in our favour.
Time will tell, until then I guess this thread will roll on and on.

So I'm pretty sure we play a strikerless system due to Aguero's unreliable fitness and Jesus's versatility. Playing a standard striker with just Jesus means that whenever Pep wants to rotate we have to play either Sterling or Torres up top as those are the only two that could come close to doing it right, and really neither is ideal. Alternating between a striker system and a false 9 could have worked but we'd have had weaknesses that were visible in games at the end of last season.

Without Aguero it's easier to play a false 9 because all of a sudden you've got multiple forward options, and Jesus is still versatile enough to fit in when necessary. No one injury can upset the balance. It's inadvertently beneficial for Pep as we could see he was trending towards playing a strikerless system in big games last season anyway, even with both strikers available.

You can tell this by the fact that whenever Aguero has played we still maintain the strikerless style.

If we sign an out and out striker I expect to see a reversion to a non false 9 system, with the new signing doing what Aguero used to do and Jesus going back to being the utility forward again.

Perhaps you could point out where I said Yaya would play striker in our team?

Well I said that a big lump like Yaya could play in our side from deep midfield and that I thought that position would suit Haaland because of his similar physical attributes (also said he’d want to play striker).
You then come back telling me how Yaya could play in our team (which is what I’d already said) so I pointed to the fact that a big lump like Yaya was the wrong shape to play striker in the same way that Yaya was.

I come on here to read opinions, learn a bit and give mine in exchange but you’re coming at me in a way that strongly suggests you’re one of those who must have the last word to keep their pride intact.

My pride’s fine at the moment so I’ll leave you to it.

I hope you find someone who’ll engage with you to keep you happy.

so the best manager ever wouldn't get the best out of Haaland?

You’re making stuff up because I’ve not said that.

But what is as plain as day is that no manager is going to be able to shrink Haaland down to half his size so that he can run all day, press like a demon and play tippy tippy passes in incredibly small spaces - in the same way that no trainer can ever make Usain Bolt into a 10,000m runner. If you’re the wrong physical shape for the exercise it’s not going to happen.
Horses for courses.

This isn't aimed at you but calling Yaya a big lump is ridiculous he had fantastic ball control and dribbling speed, he was far more than a big lump. The same could be applied to Haaland

You’ve misread me Mr Blue,
Yaya was a massive unit and I refer to him a big lump in the fondest possible way - which isn’t at all ‘ridiculous’ it’s a term of endearment (my mum, bless her, used to call me a big lump).

If you doubt my intent then you should read back through my posts and my deep appreciation of Yaya as a player shines through very clearply.

Also, I only mentioned Yaya because I was comparing him to Haaland - their physical size (both ‘big lumps’) very much determines the type of game they can play.
