Erling Haaland

His dad has an awful lot of say, defacto agent.

He can get top money anywhere, but they do have a vision and road map as to what will suit him best.

As I said the other day, it may well be a perfect storm opportunity, simply because I don't see Barca or Madrid having the current lure or resources to make it happen.

I have felt for a while that he wants to come 'home' to England, and that the two main clubs we must concern ourselves with are United and Chelsea.

We have our own blue-tinted lense, but those clubs will also have their appeal and pitches.

However, the fact we can pitch the Aguero replacement/successor, Pep and a team full of winners, coupled with the old man's former association, people would have to be ignorant to dismiss we have a wonderful chance of persuading him.

And that's before paying him top wages.

Now imagine if that equation could include playing with Messi for a couple of years?

The boy and Alfie have been very smart with their decisions up to this point, nothing I hear on the grapevine suggests they suffer fools.

Anyone asked Pep if he wants a striker seems he loves the false nine. ;)

The thing about Chelsea is that I see no stability with them, how can they guarantee he’ll be playing a certain way or playing under a decent manager? They swap them every couple of years and a nee manager may play differently. Obviously they have the “London Factor” but idk how much that would persuade him

I'd say they are attractive enough with Champions League football.

They have good young players in Havertz, Werner and Mount, with a manager who has a rep and cash to spend.

Added to living in a decent part of the Capital, I can see why certain players go for it?

I think Chelsea and united will both want centre forwards, not sure it's the priority for either. They'll both need to spend on defensive positions. Whether that leaves enough to compete for Haaland, especially Chelsea, without selling I'm not so sure.

Yes, that is the only outlier. Chelsea and United both want centre backs.

United will also have to replace Pogba and are linked to Rice and Grealish.

Thing is, both those teams might try to wing it and buy someone cheaper, just because they know Haaland can be the difference between a good team and a title winning team.

And also secure the main striking position for at least five years before making a profit if he comes good.

Good lads Barca.
I think Liverpool ‘sold’ the basic Coutinho fee to a finance broker who gave them the full amount upfront for a commission, usually around 5-10%. Dont think that would cover performance related bonuses and instalments which by their very nature cannot be predicted in advance.

You need to quit this nonsense which got old days ago when you started it

I will do, don’t want to upset anyone with my questions that really no one can answer just curious to what pep thinks am sure he would want top striker in his squad for an option.

I think maybe he’d like one. If you look at most of our positions we have two players but they normally offer something different. Like Cancelo offers something completely different to Walker say and our wingers can play inverted but we can also play sterling on the right as an out and out winger. So I think having a different option would increase our unpredictability

A list was published last month of all the monies Barca owed to clubs.

Liverpool are owed £30m-plus on Coutinho and even if you want to dismiss the premise of the article someone has linked here, then avoiding £4m by not playing Coutinho is small potatoes, as Liverpool are still not getting their larger owed monies anytime soon.
When that list came out it was also reported Liverpool sold the debt, they've already pocketed the 30m and Barcelona owe a bank or someone else.

Actually this is easy to answer and I already did many posts ago when you first made this point. I think you are mistaking what a false 9 is and why he uses it in the current team. There is nothing he would love more than having a Lewandowski again or a Haaland now. It opens up the possibilities for the team in considerable ways. And the idea that any team would say “hmm we don’t need a center forward in the squad because we can use a false 9” verges on insane (ESPECIALLY with Pep and especially in a club with the ambitions our club has)
