Erling Haaland

So, to conclude, there is no suggestion we ever bid anything for him, let alone 130m, even a vague one never mind a credible one.

That article borrows from 3 different time periods.
You can’t possibly be this stupid. I did not link to the article to prove anything to you. I don’t have to prove anything to you. I was making a different point that you missed entirely and are now incapable of moving on. So I’m moving on

Haaland has some great qualities, and i hope that we can improve him, he wouldn't be the first wonderkid to have not progressed, as for who I want, just the best player for us, im completely open minded, my attitude in this thread isn't against haaland far from it, just the claim its haaland or we are fucked
At Molde the 'wonderkid' tag would have fitted, less so at Salzburg. At Dortmund he's now left that far behind, he's the real deal and has shown it in Germany and in the CL against top opposition.

Lol stop. This fetishizing of Benfica players is a bit much.
This particular transfer is unlike any other in our record except maybe when we offered 130M for Mbappe and he decided for PSG (not a financial decision). Comparing the Haaland saga to the Koulibaly, Jorginho, Alves sagas is just silly. We’re talking about a different kind of generational talent and the approach won’t be the same

it’s a sobering thought that the Rags bought Lindelof from Benfica - and he’s got two left feet.

Re Mbappe lots was made of Paris being an easy move - culturally at such a young age but the wages he got offered by PSG blew anything Real (or City) would or could have offered out of the water - so not saying he moved for money but I wouldn’t discount completely from the decision making process.

Clearly, I can! And rude too.

Aye, move on. And carry on thinking we had bid 130m for mbappe, which, if we were to have done, he would have had to have wanted to come here, which he reportedly did not in the slightest.

“The club is also trying to build something new there. But to draw comparison now is not so easy because he (Erling) is already playing in Dortmund.

“These are two very traditional clubs with a large fan base and a glorious history. Man United is a very proud club, just like Dortmund in Germany.”

It's from a German TV channel S1 (presumably an online post somewhere).

The Mirror re-posted it but there's also a bit where he says:-

"Solskjaer has said he is still in touch with Haaland following their days together at Norwegian club Molde - and has been seen as a potential factor in United's favour in the race to sign the 20-year-old.

But Haaland Snr last year said the whole package of the club was much more important than the identity of the manager.

“You have to go to a club where the whole club wants you, not just the coach," he said.

“I think that’s the most important thing, in addition to how the club has been over the last five or 10 years and what direction they’ve taken."

So take from that what you will.

Some of the quotes are from January and some are from March 2020. None have been said within the last few weeks.

Ole already tried to tap him up before he went to Dortmund he flew out to speak to him asking him(begging) to go to his team! Unless the rags sell players I can’t see them affording the fee if true it a one payment method that Dortmund will want...

Recent history tells us that our owners stay very quiet whilst in negotiation for a player - and it’s still relatively early says in the Haarland process - although I’m sure much groundwork has been done. If at any point the club feels the player or agents heart isn’t in it we quickly walk away and brief the press accordingly. The only exception to that was Jorginho- and that was only because he and his agent were pathological liars swearing blind that they were not in negotiations with Chelsea when they clearly were. Until the club says otherwise I think we can assume we are in the mix for Haarland.

One way or another they'll be able to afford it

One way or another they'll be able to afford it

Ive heard figures of United burning through over £4m a week during the pandemic so with existing debt already significant and with the Glazers already borrowing against United for their ailing shopping mall empire - United’s ability to keep on borrowing may not be infinite- remember all their recent acquisitions have been spread across the contract so they are still paying big lumps for that big lump Maguire and others - this season and next.

More like taking the proverbial .....

Can't wait for the haaland v turkey highlights video, or do we only see game's where he scores,
The one eyed love in for haaland is embarrassing,
What idiotic reasoning. Has Aguero scored in every game he’s played in for Argentina?

The reason why “highlights of each game where he scored” get posted weekly is because he tends to score every fucking week.

You don’t understand football and can’t see his qualities and potential. We get it. Not sure why you feel hell bent on proving it so often in this thread.
