Lkzerinho / Dobsy fair enough all about opinions.......if he's as good as you think or rather Pep/City agree with you, we will pay what it takes to get him, selling and having a couple less playsrs in squad if needs be.....but i dont think Pep/City agree and he'll go elsewhere...just mho.
Yes I’m sure it’s that simple...

Not even you believe that

the injury curse will mean whoever we sign will be out for the first 12 months anyway so hope thats is being considered into the length of any contract

ah my heart was so set on Haaland. seems it’s not going to be as I don’t think we’ll be in the market for a striker next season regardless of if we get Kane or not. I think we will sign a 9 this summer and he’ll be our striker for the foreseeable. maybe in an alternative universe

Haaland would have to say he wants out, to alter the landscape. However, I imagine we are too far down the line with Kane. I suspect Kane wants to go to the Euro’s with his future sorted. Whether Levy will facilitate that….

It’s going to be gutting to see him at another club. I have had my heart set on him for so long. Think he’ll always make me think of what could have been, when he goes about 10 years straight getting a goal per game average.

Whilst Haaland would be my number one choice, if we get Kane instead as long as Haaland goes to a foreign club that’s ok. Couldn’t bear him signing for rag or Chelsea even if we did get Kane. I don’t think right now he’s a better striker than Kane, but he probably will be in a couple of years and for the next ten. So he’d make the most sense to sign. But Kane would certainly be a fantastic signing too, just shorter term.

This is my main concern. I'm fairly confident City will be dominant regardless during Pep's tenure. But after Pep?

If City sign Kane that pretty much rules us out of signing Haaland. Though not everyone will agree I think there is a very real possibility united would sign him next summer and would be further evidence of them getting their act together long-term. He is made for the Premier League and is reportedly keen to play here.

I know we can't expect the level of dominance we've become accustomed to under Pep indefinitely, but ideally I really hope City do as much as possible to future proof the team as we draw nearer the end of Pep's time here.

I think City need to be smart here (and they usually are). I don't want Pep's contract ending with the club needing to spend big again looking for a star striker whilst a domestic rival has the one we want sitting on their books for the next 7 or 8 years. There is also the side effect of losing the Pep advantage when trying to attract players just at a time when it's really needed.

I'm very confident in our long term strategy and thinking. The nucleus of our squad is young and improving, our targets mostly fit that profile and the talent in our academy is unrivalled.
Who the manager will be is a mystery.....but thats a good while off yet and,i'll reiterate,Pep and Khaldoon wont see the team/club left in a mess.

Totally agree. It's all a bit first world problems really. Just have this nagging doubt about the way things are playing out.
Anyway, maybe Delap turns into Haaland 2.0 and all this is moot.

He is going to be my new Isco. Took me 5 years to lose the Isco itch :(

Is it the old City mentality that anything good will be taken away from us or the "cups for cock ups" theme or what? There is nothing to suggest that Pep will leave anytime soon so why the pessimism? There is just as much chance of Pep staying for the next ten years as leave in the next two.
