His father must want his son atleast playing for his club for a few years, i don't expect haaland to be like Foden that loves the club or any kind of loyalty to the club.

His idol is Ibrahimovic so i reckon his career will be like him as well. Always moving club to club for few years, creating his own legacy withour any loyalty to any club.
That may be true or not, however if he were to come here and win the CL , Ballon D Or so on and become a club legend, he could form a connection with the club and want to stay here until he retires or at least until he's like 30 something. Usually players that became legends for a certain club didnt know that was going to happen , they just took a transfer that turned out to be the best thing ever for their careers.
I'd be happy if he follows a similar path to Sergio, comes here , wins trophies and becomes a legend then leaves when he's in his early 30s.

While it's possible, i want to prepare possibility he just want to play a few years with us if that does happen. I will not too heartbroken if that ever happened, modern football player become less likely loyal too their club each passing day is become new norm.

the trickle of reports linking us up is starting to pile up. there must be something in this.

Sadly, I think that may just be the vacuum of the internationals talking. Speculation of the somewhat obvious. Top club needs Top player, may be intetested in top player, at top price.

I do think we will be in for him, whenever his move comes round (feels like summer). I just don't think there is much to these one or two shouts at this point.

The only question is, will City be held to ransom by the enormous wage and agent financial demands.
I’m sure he’d happily play for us but what will he do when the rags come in with a double your money offer for him (they have form for this don’t they)?

One thing we know for sure is City won’t be held to ransom. Whether that means we don’t get him would be entirely in the hands of the Haalands.

Are you aware that we have paid more in agent fees than United almost every season in the past decade? We are used to paying a shitload in fees, and amazing how people can’t seem to accept that.

Wasn’t what he said though, he said would we be held to ransom. No is the answer.

City Chief posted the tweet 8mins after CityXtra. @dannyboiblue just posted it this morning.

The tweet also says "summer move"...

It wasn't a dig at their timing, more the addition of 'breaking' as an attention grabber. Which works btw.

The original tweet by the times guy was yesterday afternoon, but semantics.

Depends what the ‘package price‘ is I suppose. If we presume we were prepared to pay £120M for Kane plus £300k a week for 5 years that takes us to £200M. If Harland is on £67M, there’s quite a bit to play with. Admittedly they won’t want to blow their wage structure out of the water but there are ways and means to not do that. Finally, someone will pay, so I’m of the view that I’d rather it was us than anyone else..
