Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

I get the feeling that some fans still think that we can win this argument.

That one muppet raging on talksport, people moaning on Twitter and YouTube.

We can’t win. But we can’t lose if we don’t play.

They got us where they wanted us to be. Blues saying they would love to see the back of Pep, that the club doesn’t care about fans. It’s funny how easy it is to sow the seeds of division. All it took was one inocuous comment and a thousand insecure fans going mental.

Ignore the media, don’t participate. It’s a circus and we are the clowns of the week. Next week it will be some other club.
Bob on.

Done a great job as a manager but hes an egotistical virtue signalling bald tw@t. Cant wait for him to go I really cant.

The crowd Wed was not that bad despite media bollox.

Bob The Manc understood the club more than this guy will ever do.

Virtue signalling? bizarre take on him and as for wanting him out don't be such a tool.

I dunno mate. I sometimes wonder if he's just genuinely trying to help and just doesn't get it, cos why would he belittle us intentionally? Surely he isn't. I think he needs PR help with this stuff, but the problem we've got is no one will dare say anything to Pep at the club. He's untouchable and they don't want to upset him.
I saw your YouTube video about it and agreed with everything you said but the only way any of this gets traction is if it gets a reaction from City supporters. If you don’t care you have won.

All clubs have a claim to fame even if it’s selling the best biscuits and other club’s are crap in comparison. Footy is tribal in nature.

Our thing isn’t biscuits its winning trophies.

Argue and you lose. Ignore and you win.

I will never rise to it I just smile. If I couldn’t I’d just agree and say I’d rather have crap fans than a crap team.

I believe tablets help !

Kevin Parker ; I don't know him but just spoke very well on Sky.

My observation is that people just don't seem to understand the nature of modern media.
They are desperate to create a situation, to milk it, and make it into a long running saga of Club v fan .

A little naive of pep, he clearly dislikes the media side of managing , but has given Simon Stone an open goal for the press conference . He needs to be more composed in front of press.

Just watched Parker's interview on Sky.

Very disappointed.

He's fell for their wummery hook line and sinker and allowed himself / us to be drawn in to their smear campaign.

He's also referred to the scum and dippers a few times. Their fans will fucking love that.

Should have just told them to fuck off and not spoke to them.

Him speaking to them legitimises something that doesn't actually exist.

When we were rubbish we resorted to saying we had the widest pitch or the tallest floodlights or a good youth team occasionally.

We have hoovered up all the domestic trophies for years so the opposition fans come up with our fans are crap.

So when somebody says we have no fans just imagine they are saying “we have got the greenest grass”

SO WHAT?

In fact “so what?” Is a question they cant answer because it’s a childish accusation even if it were true.

Understand this…if you argue you have lost. Opposition fans don’t want a debate they want to wind you up and it’s working a treat with or without Pep’s comments.

If you have to say something then agree with them doesn’t mean you believe it and they have lost.

You have to stop arguing and more importantly you have to stop caring.
There's some truth in that. Maybe we should stop rising to it but I think in most cases fans are just trying to correct mistruths. However, even when you present fact-based evidence to disprove their shitty arguments they often don't listen. I can kind of accept the jibes from United fans - well the match-going ones - as it's all part of the banter and we've been doing it to each other for decades. Them with their "Massive Club" song and us with the "No fans from Manchester", but we're now getting shit from fans of clubs who can only dream of getting the attendances we get. Villa fans in particular are rapidly taking over the mantle as the biggest dickhead fanbase around. And it's not just jibes about attendances and empty seats either. They were utter bellends at the League Cup final, so much so that one grown man punched a 9 year old City fan ffs. I've always felt that the 2 sets of fans got on ok and Villa away is one of my favourite away games as you can usually go on the lash there and not encounter much trouble, but it seems that has now gone out of the window.

The only thing that is happening now is sky making out its fans against pep
On sky they will run with who's right?
Pep or the fans
They will run with this to try and drive a wedge between us and pep
IMO I think Kevin Parker was right to come out with a statement but leave it at that don't go around all the press outlets giving them interviews as well
Just throwing more fuel on the fire now. He has been just as bad as Pep in terms of giving our enemies exactly what they want

So, all in all, our attendance was about par for the course, 5th largest playing a poor side that didn't bring any away fans.
Barcelona (v Bayern) is the one they should be looking at (unless there is covid rules in place).

Let's not turn this into a Guardola witch hunt, that is exactly what the press want, they've found a wedge and we're helping them to drive it in.
There was no issue with the attendance. The only reason why this is a news story is because pep brought it up. He wasn't asked a question about the attendance. He made the statement off his own back hence why it is headline news

I disagree, it is not nonsene, Pep politely asked fans to come to the game on Saturday, fill the stadium with noise, then a group of posters were convinced he was criticising them, creating a whole new narrative while overblown reactions now providiing a source hilarity for our detractors. Pep isn't what they are laughing at, reactions to his post is,
I have seen far more pisstaking from rival fans as a result of his comments,it was the perfect ammunition for them.As i said, his words backed up their claims (false or otherwise) perfectly.
