We need a few new chants that can repeat repeat, like the laporte song. When our singing fails it is when we sing short 20 second bursts. The song gets going and by that time people stop singing it, also by the time middle % front have heard the back of 115 singing, the song has died. The laporte for example carried on and on so people kept going on joined in.

I’ve gotta agree with Dave above. Other then block 115 no one in the ground actually joins in with it. If you want the rest of the ground to join in, the singing section needs to sing more songs that everyone knows. Hey Jude, we love you city…

We’ve got a great continuous song - when the blues go marching in. Everyone knows it and lots will join in if it’s sung for a long time

I remember BITD in the Kippax when it got quiet. Some fcker with a fog horn would start de de de de de de de de de City! It soon livened up. Get it sorted 1894!

Yes but Maine road was relatively compact with low roofs. If the north stand started a song the Kippax often joined in with it and it spread, and vice versa. That doesn’t happen at the ethihad. They can’t even hear each other because the sound has no close roof to amplify it.

Totally agree, but it makes me wonder if operation one end would ever work to unify the singers as I think many would just move again to the other side of the away fans. It seems a cultural thing at City. I suppose the only way to prevent it would be to move them on masse onto the top tier, but I do not think thats an option the club wish to consider.

Completely agree, but the ground, or more of them, do join in with chants like
Blue Moon or City City the best team in the land...

There is not a cat in hells chance a a large number of people will join in with the Edin Dzeko chant, but yet its dragged out every game and other irrelevant chants. If the point of the singing end is to support the club, singing about the Inter Milan striker is not much help.

Can I ask, when the club fucked off banners and flags for the stupid electronic ones, was this put forward by the club or a response by the club to fan complaints?

Probably because fan banners do not allow advertising to be displayed throughout the game. Whereas electronic fan banners can be interspersed between revenue generating ads.

Cheers, yeah I get this, and I always assumed the club pushed it from the off, but I wondered if that was definitely the case

I absolutely hated it, I thought it was one of the worst things city have done to the fans in recent times

I more meant were complaints from fans about their view or something the start of it all. But I'm guessing more the advertising space.
