Completely agree tourist / day trippers are here to stay while we are successful but they are taking up the tickets season ticket holder are not. Last night there were more tourist than usual , hence the sell out. I don't mind that we are expanding our support base but why don't they put their phones' away and watch the matchthe main reason there’s lots of day trippers is because season ticket holders/ locals either can’t be bothered or can’t afford champions league games. Completely different crowd for fa cup games and prem games

If you were on holiday in LA and you went to see the Lakers play wouldn’t you be taking pictures of LeBronCompletely agree tourist / day trippers are here to stay while we are successful but they are taking up the tickets season ticket holder are not. That just shows you the weird acoustics in out stadium.
Because their fans were up in the top tier their singing sounded loud as hell, bouncing off the roof. As I've stated many times, when our fans in that tier sing it echoes around the stadium in the same way.
As for the Pep cigar one...quite brilliant.Absolutely love the Joy Division one.
A lot of the time our atmosphere comes from reacting to goals and having to be winning the match. The fans need to give it out regardless on Sunday. Don’t leave it emptied out in the concourse and give it in the stadium bowl instead.
Would love to see one of Bernie with his brew and big coat, especially whenever we play the cultAs for the Pep cigar one...quite brilliant.
Every singing section in every stadium in the world is every stadium’s front-man for atmosphere. They are who the rest of every stadium in the world looks to to lead the atmosphere.
But I don’t think a lot of people in our singing section understand that, and some don’t care and are just there for a sing and a laugh within their own little section and aren’t bothered about the rest of the ground. That’s up to them as well, it’s not like they’re under contract to make sure the whole stadium is singing. But it will always be the case in every stadium that the singing section leads the atmosphere.
All the quick burst-y clap-along awayday chants might sound good in the singing section, but they never catch on around the stadium. “Edin Džeko”, “Empty Seats At Home” (when we’re at home in a full stadium?), and a number of others, have never caught on around the stadium, and they certainly won’t in a tense 0-0.
At 0-0, even any sort of individual player songs are never going to catch on around the stadium… we have to get the CITY songs going more, and we need to get a load of new ones! Positive, uplifting, CITY songs.
Not songs about players, not songs about United or Scousers, not songs taking the piss out of ourselves, not the quick burst-y clap-along awayday chants… all those kind of songs are great to have in the back catalogue but should just be extra songs to add to a City set list for when we’re 4-0 up to add to our core City chants. But they’ve become the singing section’s core chants.
City songs have always been the songs that have caught on around the stadium, but we sing fewer and fewer of them all the time. Some have completely disappeared from our set list.
Hey Jude
City, We’re From Manchester
City ’Til I Die
We All Follow Man City, Over Land And Sea
Oh When The Blues Go Marching In
We’re The Pride Of Manchester
Even “We Live You City” is seldom sung (compared to Edin Dzeko!)
And many many more…
There are a number of them that we haven’t sung for so long that it’s take a few months of reintroducing them before the stadium gets used to singing them again. When they should be the core songs of the set list every week!
And we should be adding to these with new City chants n’all.
One thing I’ve never understood is that we are the one and only Centurions in English football history, yet we haven’t got a single song about it. Surely even something simple like “Centurions Centurions ole ole ole” (to the “Championes” chant) is something we should have been proudly belting out for the last four years?!
I've not heard a rendition of boys in blue for a long time!completely agree mate.
I always hear that we don’t have enough songs.. we’ve got loads of them. Songs/ chants that everyone knows.
I can’t for the life of me understand why the south don’t sing any of the classic city songs. It happens maybe once a game
city til i die
Blues go marching in
perfect songs that are about city and everyone would join in with.
Im asking a lot and it’s easier said then done, but could the 1894 group or other fan groups get involved in a campaign to bring these type of songs back?
it’s as if the people who came up with Dzeko chant are in the south stand and won’t let it go. We don’t even have chants for our players now
we need the south stand to lead the ground, which isn’t happening
