Thought this might have got a song last night, their fans were raging about that tweet at the time.Wow, fantastic.
I stay to the end but I understand why fans leave early.Decent atmosphere last night but FFS the amount left at the end was pathetic to clap in an exceptional performance. No traffic to speak of either last night to make an excuse of.
The queues of green and white buses with hordes of rabid sheep worriers on board banging on the windowsBack in the seventies was on Victoria Station on a Satutday lunchtime and was astonished how many Leeds fans were travelling over from Lancashire for their match. Some months later was staying in Bradford then fourth division, and going to see City at Leeds . No Leeds fans on the platform, but the platform opposite packed with rags on the way to OT. Think it was 74 75 season great game at Elland Rd 2 2 draw came back twice and a very late equaliser felt like a win . Scary walk to and from the station but lived to tell the tale. Always think of Leeds as one of the big clubs of the English game and as they hate the rags have a soft spot for them these days
No they wouldn’t, they had sections of the ground closed off permanently for 10+ years until their promotion season.I think a lot of their fans deserted them in the 80s due to the thuggery at the very heart of that club, plus decline after the glory years plus the terrible effects of Thatcherism and deindustrialisation on that city. They would get big home crowds today if they had a bigger ground, and have always had a comparable away support to city.
