Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

I thought it was good too. I’m not surprised who’s moaning though.

thats a fucking myth too

its more like 70 to 75 minutes

fucking champions ,first home game for most fans in 18 months

its just shocking, but its the new norm these days

my 14 year old is disgusted and cant understand it.
The bizarre thing is the traffic wasn’t bad at all at full time. One of the easiest drives hone I’ve had through central Manchester. I walked 20 mins to my car and was back home in Warrington by 5.40.

My seat is in 115 but today I was sitting with my mate in 219.

I thought the atmosphere was shite tbh. Tried to get a few songs going and nobody could be arsed.

The club should have made a bigger effort though. Scarves, even plastic flags or something to get people going, but no, nothing.

The state of the concourses, around the ground, city square etc was shite. They’ve not even run around it with a duster and a lick of paint.

This kind of thing matters and impacts atmosphere.

For a game where we haven't watched them for 18 months, we're going into it as the champions and we're cruising to a 5-0 victory I thought it was quite lifeless on the whole. 3/4 of the ground couldn't even muster a single "city!" and as usual the race to escape started with 10 minutes left. Even the Norwich fans who had been silent all day piped up with is there a fire drill upon noticing that.

There's always a lot of moaning about players not showing their appreciation at the end of games, there was about 8/9 players today that basically did an entire lap of appreciation, even grealish came back on and did it and barely anybody saw.

Saying that, I understand its now hard for us to get as pumped up for games like this where we go into the game asking how many we are going to get not whether we will win, it would be a bit disingenuous if we were to act like we're in a cup final beating united 5-0. Usual sections played their part, and the usual sections didn't.

To be fair, I’m the first to complain when fans leave early. Today though, we sneaked out a couple of minutes early to catch our train. We’ve just got in. If we missed that one, I’d have had another hour. I miss living in Denton sometimes.

Thought the stadium looked good inside. All the flooring in the seat areas has been deep cleaned. Didn’t make me sing louder though.

Just imagining a 14 year old going to watch one of the best sides in world football, some amazing players, a 5-0 win, potentially their first visit in 18 months, and being disgusted that the atmosphere was only average. A funny image.
