Firstly, if anyone knows the cocks who ripped the banner so they could poke their heads through tell them they are arseholes.
Secondly, until we scored I barely heard our fans, all I could hear was the Madrid fans. Someone seriously needs to have a look at what we sing and when, I am really fed up hearing about Dzeko scoring etc. Where are the traditional songs that support the team and that the fans can join in with. Most songs are sung once and then die out. I know it will be different on Sunday but we, the fans, need to get behind the team at all times, not just sit back and wait for the goals to fly in.
it is odd how noise travels, from back of 115 the noise was ok for 15 mins, died down a bit after then got very loud after the goal. I could hear madrid fans but thats probably because i was under the roof at the back, moved to front of 115 5 mins before end and could hear madrid fans then.
the impossible task is to dictate songs that are sung, the dzecko song somebody starts and a few follow, couldnt honestly say who starts it. There are probably 8 or 10 areas where songs start in 114 / 115 / 116, often 3 different songs at once. When timing is better and there is one song it is sung at different times due to front not being able to hear the back in time and vice versa. Answers on a post card please to anybody who can come up with an idea to eliminate this issue as ive been trying for over 8 seasons. What beats me is when KDB scored 3,000 fans all sang "oh KDB" followed by "GUARDIOLA" and a couple of other songs. It was one song at once, 3,000 singers, all clapping, repeating the song a few times to carry better. So why cant we manage this throughout the game, the madrid fans did and previous other European fans ?
The European fans manage this with either a cappo or a drum, with LONG songs that build up momentum. They all look for one bunch of fans to sing and copy it rather than jumping in to it with random songs that nobody quite knows the words to. Palace do it, Rangers & celtic do it.
Not a cat in hells chance of this happening at city, you would see fans cancel season cards if a drum or cappo came in, many many fans criticise what they call orchestrated singing and say that they prefer random songs that involve the moment of the game.
Random songs are great, but if thats the way we are to sing we will be having the same conversion for the next 8 seasons. Also the days of the whole stadium belting songs out are gone apart from the very rare moment. Stadium designs and corporate have killed this.
Unfortunately if we want a better atmosphere we are going to have to move towards being slightly orchestrated, im not saying a drum or full on cappo, but something needs to change. Starter would be 1,500 good singers in 115 / 116 with no non singers diluting it. Ok if we expand the north stand we could re evaluate then. But this is 3 seasons away at least.
If anybody has an idea, please come forward with it. But we cant keep going over old ground of move to third tier / kick out away fans / cheap tickets / better songs or other suggestions within these 477 pages.. We need to organise it with new ideas somehow.
