Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Take those words to the letter if you want mate, but you know what I’m getting at. They don’t want to listen to reasons why it’s just shit behaviour for a fan base. Absolutely dreadful the scenes like that yesterday. Probably 30,000 had left with over 5 minutes playing time remaining.
But life has changed so much in the last 20/30 years. People have concerts, meals and family events booked on Saturday nights and it just isn’t possible sometimes to get back home and change in time if you leave at the whistle. There will be all sorts of reasons why people need to get away early and it’s really none of our business. Enough people stay behind, me included, to applaud the players whatever the result. The players understand that fans have lives too.

I have a nice high up seat on east stand level 1 but at 80 minutes I started to feel the heat of the sun and suddenly realised how hot many people lower down the terraces would have been all game especially those who wrapped up, the same when it’s pissing down. When the team decides to manage the game out I can see why many fans decide to bolt. Many of those low seats are shit views in the first place.

Sorry but Old Trafford is exactly the same............I've driven past on home games and they are leaving in droves before final whistle.

City fans have no passion for our club? Get to fuck boss
Yeah, because they're shit af now. Losing week after week, Why would they stay? when they were good under Fergie, hardly any would leave early during title run ins and close games, I'm talking about the Etihad. We play the best football ever played in English football history imo and our atmosphere is still bad, the passion is still lacking. We are in an epic title race with scousers and fans always leave early regardless of the score. Doesn't really matter anyway, the players proved last season they don't need an atmosphere or passionate to win the league or big CL games. Thank God we have Pep.

don’t think I agree with at. Just seems like a list of excuses. You do not see the level of early leavers we have at other grounds. A lot of those fans at Liverpool for example don’t live anywhere near their ground either - you don’t see as many leaving there.

a lot of the people you describe must have lots of money to waste to justify paying for tickets and missing so much football. Seems like lots of them aren’t that bothered about the match and go out of habit.

I keep hearing how we’ve always had early leavers. When we were going for the league under Mancini or trying to get a champions league spot it was no where near as bad.

jesus christ

someone was just moaning on this thread how cold they were with that " wind " yesterday

lets just admit ,our fanbase just is nowhere near passionate as it once was

I will give you one example yesterday as to why people were leaving early, that wind ! It was freezing during second half and most like me were dressed for a nice spring afternoon, but Christ it was cold
a bloke below your thread was mentioning how " hot " it was in the sun yesterday.

ffs

Sadly I am not able to get to games much nowadays, but I never left early when I was a regular.I always thought I might miss the best goal ever (93:20) and an extra ten minutes in traffic was worth it.

If it were up to me the first thing I’d do is have minimal ‘entertainment’ in the ground before kick off. You’ve got City Square for that. The PA drowns out any chance of even talking to people around you, never mind heaven forbid, making our own entertainment.. like singing! Even if it was only for ten minutes before kick off it would help.
