Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

“Football is the game that we all live for, Saturday’s the day we play the game”! ;)

12:30 is only 150 minutes earlier than a 15:00 kick off.

No time on a Sunday is better than 12:30 on a Saturday. Everyone I know loves the 12:30 games. No kick-off time on a Saturday changes our day out, we all meet at 10:00 on a Saturday no matter what the kick-off time is.
That’s fair enough for you and your mates pal - good on you.

But in general, 12.30 kick offs the atmosphere is lousy, even for derbies.

A lot of people who’ve had a heavy Friday night aren’t going to get back on it at 10am. I don’t think that’s unique to City, 12.30 kick offs are always shit.

My mates think it's shit as you can't get bladdered.

That’s what the rest of the day is for mate!

(Although not for me at the moment as I’ve just moved house and I’m decorating so no big days out for a while)

Course they caaaaan! Just stay up, make the Saturday still part of the Friday night out haha

Usually we go as a family brother , son , grandson , and i used to stump up most of the cost because financially i do OK , but its getting beyond a joke , it will cost nearly £300 for all of us to attend one match , ive already gave the club an example by e-mail and the scripted reply was they have some of the best value tickets available for comparable premier league clubs , they basically are not interested .
Our success has come at a cost to our fans , and the club now has an aloofness towards them , its all about the bottom line and no different from most Premier league clubs , its just business.
I’m not too bad financially but I refused to pay £50/£60 for the PSG game. That game alone with the family would have cost over 200 notes with travel petrol and food. Stayed at home and had some ice cold beers chilling in the fridge all day and got pizza takeaway for the kids.. less that £30 and job done. That’s the choice fans will start to make in the future unless ticket prices are reduced to a realistic value. I’m surprised that pubs don’t do season tickets for watching live matches.. couple of free pints and some free food whilst the match is on for a subscription of say £15 a game .

What are the matchday prices like now compared to pre covid?

I’ve had a ST since we moved to Etihad so not really paid attention to matchday prices but they seem to be scandalous at the moment.

Generally 12:30’s are grim, no time to get a beer in town before the game. And everywhere around the ground is a write off.

The kickoff time is nothing to do with the attendance it’s because of the ticket prices. We’ve had all the excuses, it’s a decent attendance considering it’s 12:30, or it’s a midweek game, or it’s cold or coz it’s pissing it down, I don’t do Sunday’s, other teams have empty seats etc etc. The fact is we’ve had crap attendances for Saturday 3 o’clock kickoffs this season and the majority of other clubs don’t have the empties that we have, admittedly we have a bigger stadium than most.
We could easily fill that stadium if priced correctly which won’t happen until people properly kickoff about it, but that won’t happen because the usual, “oh well it wasn’t a bad turnout considering it was a 12:30 kickoff and it was cold” excuses get churned out every time and round and round we go.

At best mate, it looked lower than the Red Bull game.
I’m actually gob smacked at that turnout today and I’m expecting lower on Tuesday. There are loads of reasons why the turnout might be low today, but even so I think that was really poor from us.

We averaged 39,999 in that shit season under Pearce. Going off today’s attendance (I reckon 43-44,000), I think we might get around the 40k mark on Tuesday night.

£50 adults
£30 kids

£50 quid to watch a team not trying to win. We should ask wolves for a refund !.

Funny enough its getting to the stage were I prefer champions league as the away team tends to have ago.

I came up to the Southampton game and was bored out of my head. Football is about entertaining the fans, but sadly for City fans so many away teams dont give a shit about producing a game.
People will argue it's down to City to break them down etc. People will argue it doesnt matter how anti football the away team is the fans should make a good atmosphere. 50 quid to watch an anti football team is making me choose which match I want to attend. In the passed if I could get a ticket for any match I would come up now I turned some down like Burnley, wolves etc

I dont know what the answer is , in away it's a compliment to City that teams are scared to play.

Need Pep to call out our poor home support again was class for the Southampton game after he did that

I thought Southampton were the better team and had the better chances to win that game
