Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

I had to laugh yesterday when a young lad sat behind us with his dad refused to leave after constantly being asked by his dad if they could go with ten minutes left.I am pleased to say the young lad won and stayed to clap Haaland off.I must say the club are doing well around us moving tickets on that were often left empty by season ticket holders in previous seasons, but the ground emptying yesterday like it did was dissapointing.

It’s become an habit for many now, won’t change.

You don’t see it on the same scale at old trafford or anfield.
The only time I've seen the swamp empty as quickly as our regular fire drill was during the sick swan. We've played them off the park several times since then but a few more have remained.
The only real early mass exodus I can recall from away games (75-80 minutes) was at Sid James Park under Sven, on a cold night. Gelsen Fernandes (I think) put u two up and the place just emptied.
I'm convinced the shite transport links are partially to blame and the ludicrous parking restrictions. This could get worse as the council want to expand the no parking zones when the arena opens even though there won't be additional vehicles as events won't be staged at the same time.

I agree, it definitely does appear to be a habit, occurs whatever time the kick off and on whatever day.

I have no idea what “a sign of the times” means in your context but it made me smile. What “times”?

For your record, when we were shit and United were good we got plenty of United fans on here pretending to be blues to act as WUMs. Now they are a comedy club it doesnt happen for obvious reasons. I’ve no idea whether you are one or not to be honest because you’ve disabled the feature to search your posts.
What is wrong with you? We are debating fans leaving early not whether I am a rag or not just because I disagree with someone. The fact that you are trying to search my old posts for evidence is laughable, I have no clue what this feature is you think I've disabled but if you tell me how to enable it you can happily trawl through my past if it makes you feel any better. Let me guess though, you are one of those who leave early and I've touched a nerve right?

Tbf the 4th goal by Dzeko was in the 89th minute, that’s when the fire drill kicked in.

Over the last few months I’ve started watching Ultra videos on Instagram. Not fighting videos, singing videos. The Ultra videos I watch are from all over Europe, so the term ‘Ultra support’ can’t be ‘pigeonholed’. It’s different everywhere in Europe.

I recently came across this gem. The Ultras - Curva South - Catania.(Scillies 2nd biggest city)

A few things to note. In no particular order.

The young boy wearing a green top at the front stood behind the wall, joining in and loving the chant. (at the start of the video)

The drummer, not bashing the hell out of the drum, not taking over the chant, but ‘drumming properly‘ along with the chant and aiding it.

The Capo, stood on the wall, no top, Khaki shorts, directing the fans, then letting the fans takeover the chant, whilst he puts the megaphone to his side.

The Catania fans, just like the young boy, loving the chant, you can see it, joining in because they want to join in, not because they are forced to join in by the Capo. Some fans aren’t singing and are happy to just stand and listen. It a really good and catchy chant. Shame I don’t understand Italian.

The video is on Instagram. enzo.cardaci

I would link the video to my post but it goes to my Instagram account.

I think the club needs to start trying to do something about the early leavers

perhaps players and manager commenting on it would be a start , shame people into giving the lads a clap off the pitch and showing appreciation of the fantastic team they are

We don’t like the Scousers, but to a man they stayed until the final whistle and applauded the team off last week. They do that every home match. Apparently walking back to Liverpool city centre/Lime Street from Anfield takes a good 40 minutes, if not longer. Compare that to the Etihad to town.
To be fair, that is something Klopp has rebuilt, including standing and staring down early leavers, calling them out in pressers, forcing the team to stay on till the end to clap the fans, and his little routine he does with the Kop at the end of the game. They used to be terrible, and he's deliberately created a culture around it.

Pep has got a bollocking from everyone on here for daring to ask for people to turn up and make a noise.
