Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

What’s happening with 1894? Someone on here mentioned the other day that they might be winding things down. Real shame if true. They always tried their best to improve matters.
 
Trev, when did you sneak over to Catania FC with a megaphone. ;-)

Even the FOCs are joining in. Getting their weekly workout. (along with their Mediterranean diet)

They even bring their kids on to the Curva. Ingrained and starts from an early age, just like it used to be on the old Kippax stand.

It’s fun, enjoyment and passion. What chanting and supporting your team should be about.

We (1894) are not winding things down, not sure where the rumour came from.

We are still having meetings with City (about how we can improve the atmosphere). We have had flags/displays before every game this season. We keep trying to get the atmosphere going from block 115. We are getting quite a lot of hassle from overzealous stewards so far in 2023 though.

We have taken a step back on the campaigning front. Although we had a lot of success, it’s not really what we started 1894 for, and considering there’s only a handful of us, it was like working a second job!

Just to dd to what Manchester33 has clarified.

1894 have constantly asked City fans on here and on other social media platforms to help us with displays and waving the flags. There has been some help, but nowhere near enough. When 1894 have had help and handed out 2 sticks and flags, they’ve been stolen by some of the City fans who have helped us.

Nice one mate. Thanks for the reply and indeed all your hard work. Shame about the stewards - seems to be happening more and more this season.

Do you get a good vibe from the club in your dialogue with them?

That’s disgraceful. Fucking shameful behaviour. Really appreciate the updates, and alarmed to hear that those who are working their bollocks off to make a difference got such a slap in the face.
 
For me, things will stay the same as they are until the North stand expansion is completed. No point in fighting it. Once the North stand expansion is completed, then there could be a huge change in mindset and numbers of fans who want to sing, help out, wave flags, and be part of the displays.

Nah mate. I'm not interested in the displays. Only the noise. I could be an Aural Consultant/Subject Matter Expert I suppose but it would have to be non-exec as I sit in the Colin Bell Stand and only go to about 4 aways a season these days.
