This is part of the problem, fans can't be arsed learning the words to anything with more than 10 words in it....added to that everything we sing always seems to end up being a race to get to the end quicker than the last time it was sung.That’s because it’s got a big anthemic ‘Beeernaaardoooooo, SILVA’.
Most people around the stadium only chant that bit and just clap along to the ‘running down the wing…’.
The loudest songs are the ones I hear from the North Stand (and I sit / sing level3 sides of the stadium sit in silence.
Got nothing to do with accoustics, or songs, or the roof or any other myths that might be put forward.

With the penalty spot at the opposite end of the ground). That’s because those chants have travelled around the ground and involve fans singing in virtually every block.
Lots of people in the South Stand slapping themselves on their backs. Certainly 1894 deserve credit for improvements in the atmosphere. But the South Stand is usually out sung by the away fans.
I’m sure South Stand Level 3 getting behind the team in most of the big games but it’s not very noticeable from where I sit. Maybe if they turned up the volume for more games it would be noticeable.
I hope Saturday is a catalyst for change with more fans realising it’s enjoyable to get behind the lads.
Every away game I’ve been to this season we have outsung the home fans, except probably Newcastle. Even at anfield, until they scored. I think that is a regular away fans more up for it issue. Our issue isn’t the south stand or Kippax corner, it’s the rest of the ground. There’s no excuse why the rest of the ground couldn’t learn the words to the Edin Dzeko and Bernado Silva songsThought the atmosphere was great on Saturday, ground nearly full at the end was a huge bonus. Me and my 2 teenage sons are in the family stand level 2 and sing a lot, but the only other people anywhere near us who also sing are a granddad and his 2 grandsons in the row behind. Feels a bit like it doesn’t contribute but we do it anyway. What does piss me off, apart from the silent majority, is people on here slagging off the south stand for singing “the wrong songs”. Fucks sake, at least they are singing, and we certainly appreciate it from the other end of the ground, and I am sure the players do too. I can’t afford to not sit in the family stand due to the cheaper season tickets but once they are too old for the cheaper tickets they want to move to the south stand (with me bless ‘em, well they say that anyway!). So we say well done South Stand, you’ll sing what you want, we like listening to you.

I agree mate. I’ve been to Anfield loads of times and the Gerrard slipped season is the only time I’ve been really impressed with the atmosphere there. Also a lot of these chants are not inspiring at all. Some one has just posted a video of the South Stand chanting ‘City’ at Pep and you can envisage how at a corner or when attacking how inspiring this could be. Who could possibly be inspired by chanting about Edin Dzeko who left 6 years ago?
Some chants are best left in the pub and on the concourse and stuck on instagram, fun to sing, but once your in the ground the point of singing is to inspire your team.
