Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

There is.

knock the Etihad down.
Build a brand new stadium.
4 stands as close to the pitch as possible.
60,000 capacity.
A home end.
With a low roof all the way around the stadium that keeps the noise in and amplifies it.

Obviously that won’t happen. :-(
No just demolish the East Stand replace it with a huge covered terrace with a grass bank behind and tunnels and a steep open stair way for access. Have open toilet blocks along the back wall and large painted signs saying COMMIT NO NUISANCE. Bet it would make for a great atmosphere Wonder what we could call it.

I remember the grass bank under the tin shed at Wigan. Up the side, pushed to the front of the grass bank from the back, and then sliding down the front of the grass bank. Back to the side and off we went again. It was pissing it down all day, all night and throughout the match. Great days never to be repeated again.

I'm all for getting the stadium rocking, but any chance that the absolutely bobbins, Stand Up For The Champions, that some dullard starts every home game (at least 3x) could be resigned to history...it's fucking dull as fuck*

*just my opinion obvs
Any chance that "Dullard" you call him is just trying to get everyone off their fat lazy arse to help get the atmosphere going when its gone into library mode? Decent chant and after all there' s only one team per season that can sing that so it can't be that boring... IMHO of course. Although I have to admit twice is probably enough. If you want to complain about a song why didn't you mention that pointless Dzeko chant that gets sung every game.

Reading this thread I think SSL1 should start taking requests

Maybe we should get the DJ in the new SSL1 bar area to start some of the requested chants off before the match starts. That might get everyone going.

“MCFC in the house, make some noise!”

“John Bond we love you, John Bond we do, even though you’re far away, we’ll think of you!” (I bet you’ve not heard that chant for decades ;-) )

What we need is a unit/warehouse near the Etihad that can hold 100’s of City fans, do it up with City memorabilia, sell cheap beer and food, get a proper MC who can sing, get him to blast out all the city chants old and new, have an open mic hour where anyone can air their new City chants, split the fans in half, chanting at each other, bouncing up and down and piling into each other, etc. Just a good laugh and a bit of mayhem before the game, and carrying it on to the terraces. No, that isn’t Mary D’s before anyone say’s it Is.

PS. I am drinking ShinDigger IPA. :-) (£2.20 for a 440ml can from the Co-op)

At the end of the Fulham game in Colin Bell stand top fans singing about Haaland to the Yaya tune, anyone know the words as couldn't make them all out but it was bouncing
