Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

on 32 mins there seemed to be fans making an exit, imagine missing a third of the first half to get a drink.

spoke to the steward at the top of block 115 five mins into second half, could not believe the amount of fans on the concourse and in new bar.....
I also noticed that a lot of fans were late in to the game as well. I could see the metal frames of safe standing seats (looking down from East Level 2) that aren’t usually visible after kick off. Maybe it was just the early start.

Happens most games mate. Over the course of a season some probably miss 5-6 full games worth of football and that's just accounting for league fixtures.

yes you are right, fit the footy in around the beer haha

I cant imagine wanting to watch the game on tv when 10m away is the live game !

When you go to away games you notice that on KO our stadium and arsenals are the most unpopulated terraces, the ground looks excellent 5 mins in to the game when full. Went to burnley away last season and i would say just as the game was about to KO and players where out there was more fans on the concourse than in the stands.

Just goes to show how little they can bothered about the game. They might as well stay in a pub.

It's a cultural problem. The city game is part of an all day piss up to some. I just can't get my head around spending £500-800 on a season ticket when you basically spend about 2 games worth (probably more if i do the maths) of time over the course of 19 in the concourse. Waste of money.

"Yeah I support City, once I've necked my pints down"

Only way this gets solved is if the government change the legislation on drinking on the stand which me and all you know isn't going to happen.

Like I said 5-6 games. 10 mins+ for those leaving on 80, another 10 for the essential 35th minute pint. A number don't get there for kick off or for the start of second half. Can safely say some miss 30 minutes each game. Effectively missing 6 games if they're season ticket holders and attend each match.
I'd rather watch it at home and see the full game than go and miss a large portion of it. That's even without thinking of the expense involved.

likely to be just top tier like chelsea, defo will have city fans all the way accross lower SS for this one.
Shame really. I know a lot of people on here like having city fans all together on SS but from personal experience the corner and behind the net sang different stuff/out of time with each other during the chelsea game anyway and I quite like the banter with the away fans in lower south

on a different note i think it is all but impossible to get SS behind goal and kippax corner to sing the same song at the same time, feels like a 2 or 3 second sound travel when trying to sing at the same time. It is very odd, i watch kippax corner clap their hands but the noise doesnt come accross for what seems like a couple of seconds.

the roof hang over in the away section ( lower SS ) is longer and slightly different than in 115. A few seasons ago around 12 of us went in the away end in the FA cup due to city fans having the whole south stand. The acoustics are far better at the back of there, 12 singing sounds like 50 in 115.

Always mystified me why some people pay a fortune for tickets to a sport event and just want to get pissed. At test matches people seem to go for the drinking rather than the cricket. Go to watch Irish rugby internationals at the Aviva experience spoiled by having to constantly stand to let people pass me with trays of beer. If you want to drink that badly stay in the pub you'll enjoy far better cheaper drink and save the cost of your ticket. Always enjoyed a good piss up round a match but in the ground prefer a bovril. Would like to see alcohol banned at footy and rugby and restricted at cricket, mind you I'm turning into a miserable old sod generally.
