One of my main issues is having to fork out £35 for a Cityzens matchday membership when these days I only generally do 2 or 3 games a season. I've had a membership number (did it used to be called a City card?) since the 90s when they were brought in, though I'm not sure how relevant that is anymore.
For the Burnley game I bought a ticket from stubhub, paying a few quid over the asking price (pretty much every gig i go to is via a ticket agency, but I'd never got one this way for football)To be fair the bloke who got in touch with me about the ticket when he realised I was a genuine blue said in future to get directly in touch with him. My mate who's a season ticket holder and even people on here have said similair things.
I do know some long standing blues who were there when we were really shit are put off by this joining fee.
Some games do go to open sale, Copenhagen in October was one I went to, but you do wonder how long before they are all 'Cityzens only/straight to Agencies?
However, I wonder how many tickets that do go to agencies could really go on open sale and thus more occasional attending but long standing blues could go.
Nothing personally against the 'tourists' they are entitled to go, why wouldn't they? it is a very high quality product they currently get.
At the FA Cup game against Burnley it was interesting though to see the 2 people sat next to me, both appreciating the football but both looked very 'perplexed 'at the depth of feeling for our ex captain at the beginning and the Poznan during the game.!
Having said all this, I have also known City fans who've gone week in week home and away out for years and are right miserable sods who never get involved in such things and don't contribute much to the atmosphere anyway!
Just read past from Cheadle hulmeBlue above (started this past ages ago) and pretty much concuring really!
