Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

I did it in reverse, but got drenched!

Ironically, on 2 counts, I got wet from the rain on row Y of 314 that wind blowing in at us was ridiculous felt sorry for the people on level 1 and secondly @Andy TheCatalyst Morrison I saw the one and only big Andy outside the main entrance after the game as I was walking back towards Joe Mercer Way

Standing up during dangerous moments is normal fan behaviour? People don't normally get out of their seats when a goal is scored as they're usually already stood up.

Maybe Dave is fortunate that it doesn't happen as frequently where he's located for his and his old man's individual circumstances. He'd have a meltdown where I'm usually sat. Not just the fans celebrating....... those arriving late for kick off and the second half, those leaving early at half-time and full-time and those with weak bladders just to name a few. Everybody on each aisle up and down like a whore's knickers.

Was on the way home last night and Elton John came on, can someone more creative than me do something with this?

Erling haaland in place of of I’m still standing? Either the whole chorus or just the “I’m still standing, yeah yeah yeah”/“Erling haaland yeah yeah yeah”

Although I know how bad we are with high notes (oh yeah/awoooo) so maybe an actual chorus…

Cheers, that’s all I’ve got
Might need a bit of work. Maybe a different tune and different words and it could be a winner?

Does someones 'right' to watch standing up trump someones 'right' to watch it sitting down? Equally does someones 'right' to watch sitting down trump that of the person who wants to leap around? To me the answer is neither which means we need to find an accommodation with each other which is an increasingly difficult task given how we are encouraged to be self-absorbed these days. If our fanbase is getting younger and more animated its not a bad thing imo. However we need to be considerate of both the older and very young for whom there's no point going if they can't see the good bits of the game. The answer isn't to be discriminatory and tell people they have less right to go to the game and should stay at home.

In the past there's been an implicit understanding of which parts of the stadium are suitable for different types of fans. But if the fan base is changing or tourists are less aware or supply and demand means people have to take what they can get them maybe the club needs to do something? It really shouldn't be beyond the club to devise a strategy and then be more explicit about what expectations are in different sections of each stand. However given its about the bog standard fans 'experience', which strikes me as the thing the club seems least interested/competent in, I wouldn't hold my breath.
